The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Johnston funeral home, Uniontown, in charge of the Rev. William J. Hillman. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

CARL SLODOWNICK Carl Slodownick, 51, of 125 Sylvanus Drive, Uniontown district manager of American General Insurance died unexpectedly Monday in Houston, Texas, where he was attending by the "shade" of Delilas that is conjured up by Pansy's pleasant and fragrant effusions in the minds of many readers of the Human Interest Column. What Pansy does not realize is that by her shadowing Delilah's erstwhile writings, the "Shade" is now "stealing her thunder" and receiving the acclaim that rightfully belongs to her (Pansy). What was it I mentioned about subtlety? Oh yes, the "Shade" claims priority here. And all because Pansy remains incognito, and will not "Come Out From Behind" and let the readers know little Alice enjoys looking through the ''looking- glass" by moonlight, at the fan letters that are now being sent to the "Shade," because of Delilah's lasting, subtle, influence. By United Press international PLAINFIELD, N.J. (UPI) Isadore Tornberg, 74, designer of the first rotogravure press in the United States, died Monday. Thonberg retired in I960 as vice president and sales manager of Wood's Newspaper Machinery Co. in Plamfield. He joined the firm in 1919 as engineer and draftsman shortly after making the rotogravure design.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (UPI) -Harry G. Haft, 75, a clothing manufacturer, died Monday at Memorial Hospital where he was under treatment for an ulcer. Haft, of Hewlett Harbor, N.Y. joined his six brothers in 1916 to form the firm of Morris W.

Haft and manufacturing women's suits and coats. The clothing business was dissolved in 195(h Saints R.C. Church, Holy Name Society; Knights of Columbus of Masontown, Albert Gallatin Assembly Fourth Degree of Uniontown and the National Slovak Society Assembly 554. Surviving are his widow, Katherine, six daughters including Mrs Mary Lou Kletcho of Masontown and Mrs. Elizabeth Levendosky of New Kensington, a son, 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (UPI) -Services will be held today for John Sposapto, 74, a New York state boxing referee who died Sunday following a long illness. DARIEN, Conn. (UPI)--Services will be held today for John P. Smith, 66, an official of the Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Co.

(AP), who died Sunday night. Smith, an AP employe since 3921, was a director of the firm and president of its Eastern Division. He was a native of Hamburg, Iowa. ZINN FUNERAL The funeral service for Beverly Jean Zinn, 20, of Brownfield, fatally injured in a one- car accident in Uniontown late Monday night, will be held at 3 Thursday at the Goldsboro funeral home at Fairchance. Rev.

Albert E. Thomas will officiate. Burial will be made in White Rock Cemetery. Miss Zinn is survived by her mother, Mrs. LaVerna Zinn; her father, William, and two brothers, Barry of Fairchance and Norrnan of Uniontown.

MRS. EVE EVANS Mrs. Eve Hunt Evans, formerly of 6 Ben Lomond Uniontown, and who later lived with a son, George at Bruceton Mills, W. died at Uniontown Hospital at 12'30 p.m. Tuesday.

The funeral service will be held at 2 m. Thursday at the Gleason a home, Uniontown, in charge of the Rev. J. Robert Gray. Burial will be made in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Republicans Gain Township Control Republican control was established over the North Huntingdon Township Board of Commissioners for the first time in over 10 years, when Russell Auberle was re-elected chairman, and John S. McWalter became a full-fledged member of the board at its annual reorgan- izational meeting. However, the Democrats still maintain a 2-1 majority in township registered voters. McWalters, of Irwin, R. D.

3, defeated his Democratic opponent in a close race in November, and became the fourth Republican of the seven- member board. Taken to Hospital. Samuel Winters of Fayette City and Louis Stimaker Webster have been admitted to lor treatment. Hospital Note. Mrs.

WILSON HOFFMAN SOMERSET Wilson Henry Hoffman, 81, Somerset, R.

D. 5, died in Somerset Community Hospital, Surviving are eight children, 31 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five brothers and sisters. He was a retired farmer. A. L.

DUDLEY JR. SOMERSET Alfred L. Dudley, 57, retired technical sergeant of the Air Corps, formerly of Somerset died in Strasburg, Va. His widow, his mother and two sisters survive. affairs.

Sembower and Williams were named representatives of the city on the board of directors of Uniontown Free Public Library. Irwin Council Cuts Own Salary in Half A 50 per cent cut in council- manic salaries and the pledge of no new taxes in 1964 featured the organizational meeting of Irwin Borough Council. The expanded board, by a 10-3 vote, agreed to cut councilmen's take- home-pay from $20 monthly to $10, meaning a savings of $140 per month and $1,680 annually. The reduction will stay in effect until Dec. 31, 1965.
