Leedy, 72, former executive vice president and chief executive officer of Armour Research Foundation, now the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Linn United Presbyterian Church, Lake Geneva, Wis. Mr.

Leedy, of Williams Bay, formerly suburban La Grange, Monday in Lakeland Hospital, Elkhorn, Wis. Mr. Leedy joined Armour Research Foundation in 1938 after serving five years as an assistant professor of physics at the University of Illinois at Urbana. He was chairman of physics research at the foundation from 1944 to 1948, later serving as director, executive vice president and chief executive officer of the foundation. He was president tive officer of from 1963 to 1967 general chairman Center Fund from two years, 1971 and president for at the U.

of 1 I. and chief execuNuclear-Chicago Corp. and served as the Science 1967 to 1970. For 1972, he was vice administrative affairs MR. LEEDY WAS a former trustee of North Central College, Naperville.

He served as a division chairman on Mayor Richard J. Daley's Citizens Committee for a Cleaner Chicago and was a vice president of the Midwestern Air Pollution Prevention Association. Brown, 49, a prominent South Side lawyer, will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the chapel at 4114 S. Michigan Ave. Mr. Brown was found slain Monday in the lobby of the Illinois Service Federal Savings and Loan Association, 4619 S.

King Dr. He was general counsel of the savings and loan and a member of its board of directors. He was the son of the late Sydney P. Brown, also a director and general counsel of the savings and loan and a member of the Chicago Board of Education for 13 years. Survivors include his wife, Sonja; two sons, Stephen G.

and Nelson F. and a sister. Sylvia Gold Services for Sylvia Gold, 65, an executive of Publix Office Supplies 700 W. Chicago will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel at 111 Skokie in Wilmette.

Mrs. Gold ran the firm with her husband, Nathan, who founded the company more than 40 years ago. She was an executive at Lytton's clothing company in the Loop before going to work for her husband. Mrs. Gold died Wednesday in her home in Highland Park where she had lived for 20 years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marlene Baumgarten; a son, Philip; two brothers; 10 nieces and nephews. John Fess Services for John D. Fess, 59, of Darien, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel at 301 75th Downers Grove. Mr.

Fess, a regional manager for a wire and cable company, died Wednesday at home.
