TOE TIMES-WEMOCRATi LIMA, dlttA TUESDAY, MABCH 4ft, 1903. A FIELD OF PROMISE Is Located in a Portion of Madison County, in the Hoosier State. Although Somewhat Spotted, the Production on the Average, is Large Enough to Warrant Some Lively Work of the Drill During the Year. OIL. MARKET.

This is comparatively new territory, and the work of development is bein? pushed very and in most cases the results are such as will have .1 tendency to cause a continuance of operations and it looks as if it would be a. matter of tuz-e until there wouifi a link between Fairmount and Alexander develop- 'nects or the worthlessness of tho i-mtorr is somewhat spotted, ami tint rery light wells are found wthin a range of exceptionally good one's, but this is the case in a sreat many other portions of tlu- field, anil taken as a whole, the sells in the Fairmount are of a fair caiibre with here and there, one far above the average So far the haxt ht-lil up a gratifying manner, and some- that started off with a laree production have decreased little, and this is eotiMfiTfrt by the practical oil men as one of the mam features on i i to 'nra an opinion to of any Most jerr.tory n-l'ns; ins; to tne gas companies is ing rati-d on for oil.

It was drilled in about a month ago, and started off pumping at a surprisjng rate, but after having been pumped for a week, it was decided to pull thy tubing, on account of it needing repairs and when put hack in, was pumped and made a tank it then taved and the tubing nad to be pulled again Whea pulling it the last time, the crown pulley was jerkey out of the derrick, and they are now using jacks on the tubing, and expect to have it in shape in a tow days. The antics of this well will be watched very closely, as it was an old sasser and when it showed signs of oil, was drilled deeper, and started off with a good production This company has a lease on one acre of the farm, which consists of twenty acres, and the remainder is held by R.

No. 1 on this farm has been pumping salt water and No. 2 hits the tools stuck. The latter well was drilled in and shot a made a very good showing, but when cleaning out the tools stuck, and pumping has delayed somew hat as i result.

However, it was pumped for over the tools, and made a first class showing, and although an estimate tannot be made as to its pro- cL.ou. it is considered as being iu the class of the other good producers in that district The Fairmount Co. is drilling its third well on the Fairmount Glass property, located section 5.
