Tyler, philanthropist and widow of the insurance tycoon, will become a Dame of the Sovereign Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem of Denmark Thursday during an evening filled with the pomp and ceremony you'd expect of an order that first appeared in Denmark in 1164 during the reign of King Valdemar I. Also known, in the interest of brevity, as the Danish Order of St John, the "Christian and non-political" society is dedicated to alleviating poverty and illness and furthering spiritual values. The evening will get under way with an early reception at the home of Mrs. Tyler. The formal ceremonies take place at the Westwood United Methodist Church where Grand Chancellor Prince Peter of Greece and Denmark will conduct Alice Tyler's investiture.

The prince will also award the Commander Cross of Merit to Gen. of the Army Omar N. Bradley and to Texas surgeon Dr. Michael E. DeBakey and the Dame Cross of Merit to Mrs.

Robert O'Meara and Mrs. Don Fedderson, co-founders of International Orphans and Children's Village.
