WEDNESDAY, MAY 17, 1961 Andra Sets Glassers Victors 79-37 Over Plum Track Squad FORD CITY--Ford City High School track team yesterday downed Plum High School 79-37 in the final thinclad meet of the season for the Glassers. The event took place on then Ford City High School field. During the season the Glassers won first place four times and were second four times. Some of the meets had more than two schools involved.

The Glassers finished ahead of nine schools and wore behind six others. Orioles, Tigers Winners In Ford City Little Loop FORD, CITY-The Orioles and Tigers share first place in the Ford City American Little League today after winning opening games last night on the YFW field in Pattonville. The Orioles downed the Indians 8-1 while the Tigers blanked the Yankees 3-0. Mark Riskosky hurled for the Orioles, striking out 11, walking Derby Fifth-place Colt Shows Foot BALTIMORE (UPI)--Sherluck, a speedy colt owned by Jacob Sher of Miami, has picked up added supporters for Saturday's Preakness on the strength of a solid workout at Old Pimlico. The frisky son of Correspondent went nine furlongs in 1:54 1-5 over a fast but slightly dull strip Tuesday morning.

It was the best workout for the. distance turned in by a Preakness hopeful. Sherluck finished a disappointing fifth in the Kentucky Derby after turning in a front-running victory in the Blue Grass Stakes. Harold Young, Sherluck's trainer, said he was more than pleased by his charge's latest drill for the second of the triple crown classics. "He got a little tired near the end but I'm pretty satisfied," Young said.

"He should go into the a fit horse." Eddie Arcaro rode Sherluck in the derby but Sam Boulmetis, a Baltimore native, will be aboard the colt Saturday. The field for the Preakness picked up its eighth probable starter Tuesday Orleans Doge --who finished third-in the Gover nor's Handicap at Suffolk Downs on the same day that Carry Back beat Crozier. in the derby. Carry Back is favored to whip Crozier again in the Preakness The derby winner worked a mile in 1:43 2-5 at Pimlico Mondai while Crozier went nine furlongs in 1:56 3-5 the same day. Atty. Frank S. Hogan--an old hand at investigating cour shenanigans. District Solicitor Lester V. Chal mers of Raleigh, N.C., and Hogan were originally scheduled to mee Tuesday to discuss the mush rooming scandals in their baili wicks.

Located just off Route 422, approximately eight miles east of Kittanning, the track will feature competitive sports car events at theh opening. All sporte car clubs will be honored.

Included in the events will be inter-club competition, endurance runs (tune only), and speed and time trials. Trophies will be awarded for each class in each event. (DPI)--Thi city of Miami would like to re gain its franchise in the Interna tional Baseball League, but own ers of the San Juan Marlin; aren't willing to move back to thi Florida city.
