This game will one of the first in a big flve Is to be presented to Fort Wayne fans, and it remains to be seen If the home town school can compare with the famed conference fives.

In spite of a few drawbacks this season, the college cagers can enter the court against these husky opponents with the highest hopes of victory; for, since last night's game was dropped, Cap X.U could work- his team hard during the past week. In fact he did and the result was good, for after three dayo of strenuous workouts, the team played a few practice games and completely snowed their opponents under. Exceptional pep and harmony is shown by the men and in spite of the menacing contest, the team feels sure of taking the honors from their er-confident opponr-nts. I' recent letter from the man- ag of the unlversitj five, Man- iiKi hinerfr was infoimed that tns MS uould appear on the floor with the. all and regular team.

Thus see Uiut the Chicago management is fully nvare of the competence of the boys. The visitors' line-up however, has not been given as yet, but will appear in the later issue. Cap Lu also desires to keep his plans for Saturday's game a secret, but undoubtedly the college management can easily pick its team for Saturday's game, since it has made all the experiments possible. The game will, at all events, be one of the season's best, since both teams are school teams and both are fighting for their 1 reputation. Since the college team has three or four Windy City men, there promises to be a hot contest for the college men aie bent on showing their home town opponents what they can do.

The seconds, who took a hot game from the St. Saturday, will meet the Emeralds In the preliminary. The seconds are out for secondary honors of the city and the outlook ia very favorable for they defeated the two strongest opponents already. And REASONS FOR PAT MORAN'S SPECTACULAR SUCCESS Splendid Knowledge of Baseball and Perfect Understanding of Human Nature, SO SAYS FRANK BANCROFT By James J. Corbett.

(Copyright, 1919, King Feature Syndicate, Ine.l "Pat Moran's spectacular success a.s baseba'l pilot is due to two things, a splendid knowledge of baseball; a perfect understanding of human nature." So says Frank Bancroft. And, in the next breath, the veteran secretary of Jie Reds declares: "I've seen all the greatest diamond leaders in the past forty-five years, studied their methods, their ways and results. Many marvelous managers have come and gone in'those two none that I consider Teater than Moran." Quite nosegay for Pat. eh' And then Bancroft continued: "No better tipoff as to Moran methods can be presented than to cite the case of Jake Daubert. The great first baseman, perhaps a little nettled because he had been cast off Brooklyn in trade, determined upon arriva' with the Reds to show the baseball worid that he as far from a 'has-been." "Daubert tried harder, perhaps, the first months with the Reds to play sensational baseball than ever before.

And the result was the usual one. Because of ever-anxiousness he became rather nervous and erratic at bat as well as in the field. And each new day of failure made him worse. Jake trying to play perfect baseball, overreached himself, and, instead, played a game that was miles removed from his old-time standard. "What would nine managers out of ten have done 9 Benched Daubert--of course.

But not Moran. Pat was keen to see that the very eagerness of Jukt was his handicap So he just called CRAWFORDSVILLE, Dec. Athletic Director J. R. Townsend has scheduled definitely thirteen games for the Little Giant basketball team this winter.

If he didn't, it was a certainty that no Red batter would off at it. by pursuing this plan, the Reds wore out arms of many an opposition hurler in or seven innings and then-when he had become groggy from pitching to them--they smashed him for a victory. "The result was a miraculous change in Daubert. Jake just let his nerves slip back to normal, forget his worries and plajed naturally. In about a week he was fielding in all the brilliant fashion of old, smashing 'the ball to all parts of the lot and running bases like a kid of 20.

And that's the way Daubert disported the lest of the year" The Reds packed about as many left handed batters as ever dotted the roster of a major league ball club. Off side hitters are supposed to be notoriously weak against southpaw fimgers. Yei. the mauling Reds banged left handed pitchers all through the year with terrifying results. Bancroft Explains, How did it happen? "Well," explains Bancroft, "when Moran fell heir to the Reds he found imself overburdened with left handed itters.

Knowing he didn't have the unds to go out and buy star players vho hit from the right side of the plate, loran made the best of things. He rdered batting practice and hour, after our, day after day, Moran sent his eft handed pitchers to shoot 'em at tha eft handed batters. "And, time, those Reds were- able 0 pound southpaw twirling with the ame splendid results they secured when aced by right handed pitching." "Dutch" Ruether was a wild roolly pitcher when Moran took charge the Reds. Did Moran immediately ay down certain Jaws for the high- trung youth--and make a few veiled ireats? Not at all. Moran simply ailed "Dutch" aside one day and said: "Kid, you've got tho makings of one the greatest pitchers of all time.

And by getting the habit. I'll have $1,000 in the Victory Account before I know it, Pine Savings Account "The Victory Account is a fine savings account. If you have to stop saving any time, and you need your money, you simply draw out your balance and close your account.

Or you can borrow on your balance from the bank and keep your Victory Account intact. If. you fail to up with your monthly deposits, you can make them up any time within the deposit year, and the insurance feature still remains in force. "People will shortly be through with their Christmas Sayings Clubs It seems to me a good idea if they would make their initial deposit on a. Victory Account out of this fund.

There are also a great many people who are just completing payment for their Libeity Bonds, but these people are about through also and could open a Victory Account and continue saving under this plan. This saving would be for themselves alone and through a motive purely to have something for themselves. I know, personally, of cases where individuals have deposited their 'Liberty Bonds to their Victory Accounts. This is also true of War Savings Stamps. It seems to me a good idea and is worthy of consideration." J.

"What was the result? Ruether, used nly- to bully-ragging and raw-hiding methods, responded instantly-. to the larney of Moran.
