Considering the wet conditions and late harvest this year, Haijenga said the amount of corn and cash offered compared favorably to those of 1966 and 1967 when $9,171 and $8,762 were netted respectively. Haijenga pointed out that 6,193 bushels of corn were given in 1967 compared with 4,469 for 1966.

That year the cash value of corn was about $1.15 a bushel. Forreston Township led the county with 2,480 bushels of corn donated while Polo Township was second with 1,628 bushels. Crash Victims' Deaths Ruled 'Accidental' A coroner's jury ruled Wednesday that William Parriott, 36, Orangeville, LeRoy E. Homan, 21, and his father Russell Homan, both of rural Dakota, met their deaths accidentally in a fiery crash Dec. 28 at Illinois 26 and Richmond Road.

Coroner Gene Burke nounced the inquest findings today. Burke said the jury ruled that death came instantly to the three men in the head-on collision of the car driven by the younger Homan and the pickup truck driven by Parriott. Orville Fox LANARK Mrs. Orville (Edna) Fox died Wednesday afternoon in Eveningside Nursing Home, Morrison, where she had been a resident for eight years. Mrs. Fox was born April 8, 1890, in Woodland Township near Mount Carroll, the daughter of William and Mary (Adams) Johnson. She was married to Orville Fox on May 15, 1913.

The couple owned and operated a grocery store in Lanark for about 26 years. Mr. Fox died in December of 1948. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Randall (Helen) Tenley, Prophetstown; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Elmer Johnson, and a sister, Mrs.

Louis (Zella) Cheeseman, both of Lanark. Funeral service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Frank Funeral Home, Lanark. The Rev. lA.

Dean Lundstrom, pastor of ithe Congregational Church at Prophetstown, of which Mrs. Fox was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Lanark Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight. Group Seeks Legalized Bingo CHARLESTON, W.Va.

LOUIS, Ill. A stubborn, grease-fed fire destroyed the main building of the Swift Co. packing plant in East St. Louis Wednesday night and early today and damaged portions rest of the plant. No injuries were reported among to 60 maintenance and cleanup personnel on hand when the blaze erupted shortly after 9 p.m.

H. D. Ripley, plant manager, declined to make an immediate damage estimate, but he said it would be substantial. Pending a more complete inspection er today, Ripley also hesitated to estimate how long the plant operations might be curtailed by the fire. Employes number 1,000.

Cause of the fire was undetermined. The plant, a complex of six large buildings, is located in the National Stockyards. The main building -a 200 by 400 foot brick structure-was termed a complete loss. Two walls and portions of a third wall collapsed during the intense blaze. The flames spread to other nearby buildings, and firemen fought throughout the night to contain the fire.

Among the contents destroyed in the main building, which housed the canning operation, were 1,000 to 1,500 dressed beef carcasses. Also occupying the structure were the plant machine shop, boiler room and meat coolers.
