(INS) The Washington Huskies knocked the Oregon football squad groggy Saturday, winning easily by a 16 to 0 count before 34,000 spectators in Seattle. The Husky eleven had the heavier Oregon Ducks reeling early in the opening stanza when fleet-footed Halfback Brooks Biddle scored on Fred Provo's 32-yard pass from midfield. Kicking specialist Bob Mikalson staggered the punch drunk Ducks a few minutes later with an angling 34-yard field goal.

The knockout blow came when Marshall Dallas threw a hay-maker over center from the two-yard line after the Huskies had driven 80 yards down field in just 10 plays. UCLA reserves scored in each of the last three periods after the Bruin regulars rolled up three touchdowns the opening quarter and retired for the day. Oregon State Trounces Bears BERKELEY, Nov. 16.

(INS) A tough, hard-charging Oregon State Beaver football team coasted to an eajy 28-to-7 victory Saturday over a lethargic California Bear team in Berkeley's Memorial Stadium. The Beavers sailed right into California in the opening minutes of the game, traveling 66 yards in 10 plays to score, with Halfback Dick Twenge going over on a 16-yard run. They scored again midway in the period" when they recovered a Bear fumble on the Bear seven. Four plays later the Beavers went over again, the clincher coming on a pass from Twenge to Don Samuel, ace Beaver half. In the second period the Beavers added another tally when Bert Al-linsr.

(JP) An underdog Washington State College team almost upset the dope-sters but the Stanford Indians pounded over a touchdown in the final minutes to win 27 to 26 in a wild Pacific Coast Conference game before a crowd of approximately 18.000 here Saturday. The Cougars scored midway in the final period on a 27-yard run by Don Paul, to take a 26-21 lead but a determined Stanford team, sparked by the running of Bob Anderson and Lloyd Merriman and the passing of Ainslee Bell, rolled back to win the game. The contest started like a low-scoring affair, with neither team able to tally a first down in the opening period. The fireworks flared at the opening of the second period when Stanford drove 57 yards for a touchdown, with Don Zappettini going over from the four.

The visitors bounced right back, with two quick touchdowns. Bob Kaiser scored one and Paul got the other, to give the Cougars a 14-7 ncivuntflge at halftime. Stanford knotted the score at 14 all early in the third quarter on a 72-yard drive featuring Bob Ander son's run which set up the touchdown. Another Stanford touchdown was the result of an intercepted lateral pass which backfired on the Cougars, who had just intercepted a Stanford pass. With the Cougars leading, 26-21, the Indians came back in the final two minutes "to score on a 23-yard pass from Bell to Anderson.

The conversion attempt failed, but Stanford led, 27-26. That was the way it stood at the final gun, despite the Cougars' desperate last-minute attempt to connect with a touch down pass. West Virginia Bows to Kentucky LEXINGTON. Nov. 16.

(INS) Halfback Donald Phelps scored twice Saturday to lead the strong Kentucky football eleven to a 13-to-0 victory over West Virginia before 19,000 fans who braved a pelting rain to witness the gridiron tussel. Phelps set up the first score by running 60 yards to the West Vir ginia 10-yard line, then over in two plays. Phil Cutchin kicked the point. Early in the third quarter. West Virginia fumbled and Kentucky recovered on the enemy 25-yard line.

Two plays later, Cutchin passed to Phelps for the second touchdown Cutching missed the conversion attempt. Delaware Runs Win Streak to 29 WILMINGTON, Nov, 16. (P) The University of Delaware sent Washington College down to a 61 to 0 defeat Saturday to stretch its undefeated football parade through 29 contests. The Blue Hens, who haven't been beaten since Coach Bill Murray took over in 1940, crashed over at least two touchdowns in every quarter as they warmed up for next week's important clash with unbeaten Muhlenberg. They rolled to a score the first time they got the ball.

Montana State Trims North Dakota State BOZEMAN. Nov. 16. (JP) Playing on an ice-covered field in sub-freezing temperatures, Montana State College's Bobcats defeated North Dakota State College Bisons 39 to 18 here Saturday. The game was delayed for more than half an hour while spectators manned shovels to spread mud and sawdust on the glare of ice which covered the gridiron.

(P) Kilgore College won the Texas Junior College Football Conference championship here Saturday night when it defeated San Angelo College, 7-6, in a contest played on a muddy field.

Alan Neveaux brought Kilgore from behind with a touchdown from the seven in the third period after Kilgore had marched from the San Angelo 46. Then he booted the extra point that meant the championship. San Angelo scored '5n the first period with Hickman, halfback, going over from the one-foot line after the visitors had marched from the Kilgore 42. First downs favored Kilgore, 10-5, and Kilgore made 153 net yards rushing to 134 for the losers. Seven thousand fans saw the game.

Duke Rolls Over South Carolina COLUMBIA, S. Nov. 16. (ZD-Duke University's powerful Blue Devils turned the University of South Carolina's dreams of their first Southern Conference Football championship into a nightmare Saturday by whipping the Gamecocks, 39 to 0. About 20,000 spectators saw the Blue Devils open a six-touchdown barrage within five minutes of the first kickoff.

From then on the Dukes were knocking at the Gamecocks' door constantly. Only the smashing defense of South Carolina's center, Bryant (Junior) Meeks, who recovered a Duke fumble and stopped repeated thrusts at the center of the line, kept Duke from piling up twice the score it did. Meeks was forced from the game with a broken nose in the second period. Abilene Christian Routs Austin, 46-2 SHERMAN, Nov. 16 (JP) Abilene Christian College moved a half game ahead of Southwestern University for leadership in the Texas Football Conference here Saturday night by routing Austin College, 46-2.

The Christians scored once in the first period on a run by Brewer, twice in the second on gallops by Brewer and Mulltns, once in the third on a line-plunge by Dixon, and three times in the final period on markers by Dixon, McClere and Morris. Les Taylor went over from the four-yard line for Stephen F. Austin in the third. Billy Robinson kicked to tie the score. Schwarz returned a punt 60 yards to put the Javelinas ahead and Wright kicked, then Ander passed to Billy JNicnols for bi yards and a touch down for the Lumberjacks and Tav lor passed to Rupert for the conversion. The score stqpd at 20-20. Wright kicked his field goal from the 15-yard line. Nebraska Thumps Iowa State, 33-0 LINCOLN. Nov.

16. (INS) Nebraska's strong Corn-huskers moved by land and air to score in every quarter as it thumped Iowa State, 33 to 0, before 25,000 freezing fans at Lincoln Saturday. Quarterback Fred Methcny scored in the first quarter and again in the third on two sneak plays to lead the Nebraska offense. Other 'Husker scores were made on a four-yard plunge by Jim Meyers, a pass from four yards out into the end zone, Sam Vacanti to Alex Cochrane, and a last-quarter Thompson-to-Roy Long pass. Vacanti place kicked successfully two of four times, and Moore added another placement to finish Nebraska scoring.

Lamar Wins Over Schreiner, 20-0 BEAUMONT, Nov. 16. JP) Angelo Alvarez and the Smith twins, Robbie Dee and Bobby Lee, led Lamar College's Cardinals to a 20-0 win over the Schreiner Institute Mountaineers in a Texas Junior College Conference game here Saturday night The Cardinals struck in the opening period, driving 43 yards down-field with Robbie Smith going over on a one yard plunge. Brother Bobby booted the placement. The Beaumonters marked up another touchdown in the second period on an 8-yard off tackle drive by Alvarez.

Bobbie Dee miss ed the extra point. Late in the fourth period, Roy Davidson went 15 yards around end to score, and Bobby Lee kicked the extra point. Colorado College Scores First Win Over Grinell COLORADO SPRINGS, Nov. 16. (INS) Colorado College Tigers scored their first win in history over the Grinnell, squad on two long distance thrusts in Colorado Springs Saturday.

The score was 14-0. Brigham Young Defeats Colorado Rams, 20-6 FORT COLLINS, Nov. 16. (INS) The Brigham Young University Cougars from Provo, Utah, closed their 1946 Big Seven Conference season Saturday with a 20-to 6 victory over the Colorado Rams. Villanova Overpowers Florida in Thriller GAINSVILLE, Nov.

16. (JP) Villanova's deceptive Wildcats overpowered the Florida Gators, 27-20, in a thrill-packed free scoring game here Saturday night. The game was witnessed by a crowd of 15,000 spectators. New Mexico Aggies Win LAS CRUCES. N.

Nov. 16. (JP) New Mexico Aggies cashed in on the breaks Saturday to defeat the Colorado State Teachers from Greely 20-7 although outplayed in the statistics. Colorado State scored three minutes from the end of the game. New Mexico, Ariz.

Tie ALBUQUERQUE, N. Nov. 16. (INS) The New Mexico Lobos battled the favored Arizona Wildcats to a 13-13 tie Saturday before a homecoming crowd of 7,000 in Albuquerque. FLORIDA NORMAL WINS 101-0 ALBANY, Nov 16.

(JP) Florida Normal of St. Augustine made a race track between goal posts today as they defeated Albany State, 101 to 0. ELSWORTH HOLDS OFFICE Ralph Ellsworth is the 1946-47 president of the Association, campus organization of Longhorn lettermen. Bobcats Down Bearkats, 21-13 HUNTSVILLE, Nov. 16.

(SpD The Southwest Texas Bobcats twisted the tail of the Sam Houston Bearkats, 21 to 13, here Saturday night to hand the Kats their first defeat in the Lone Star Conference and knocking them out of a possible tie with East Texas State College for the crown. The Bobcats scored two touchdowns early in the first period. Gregg Lewis skirted his left end for 6 yards to pick up the first tally and Robert Magruder's kick was good. Second Tally Four minutes later Magruder plunged over center from the one and again converted. Sam Houston surged back in the third quarter when Billy Vaughn his his center from the three and crashed over.

The try for point was gocd. Then Southwest took to the air, George Carlisle finding Wallace Dockall with a 20 yard heave over the goal line. Magruder's educated toe took care of the conversion. Bearkats Tally Again Sam Houston, refusing to give up, managed to score again early in the last period when Vaughan cracked the center from the one. The conversion attempt failed.

The night game was played on a slick field with water standing in some places. Ironically, Sam Houston piled up more first downs than their foe, 11 to 10 for Southwest Texas. Prior to the game, Sam Houston had won one and tied one in league play. North Carolina Takes 26-14 Win Over Wake CHAPEL HILL, N. Nov.

16. JP) Charles Justice, wing-footed freshman star, led North Carolina to a 26 to 14 victory over Wake Forest in a Southern Conference football game before 30,000 fans Saturday. Playing spectacularly, Justice got off punts of 65 and 58 yards in the first period get the Tar Heels out of the shadow of their own goal posts, and then made repeated long runs to set up touchdowns that won the game. Oklahoma Wins Texas Aggie Track Meet COLLEGE STATION, Nov. 16.

(UP) The Oklahoma Track-sters defeated the Texas Aggies in a special two-mile dual race held here Saturday preceding the Texas football game. The was Oklahoma 17, Texas 38 in a sport where a low score wins. J. R. Teakell of, Oklahoma, Missouri Valley champion, finished first in a time of 10:55.0 and his teammates, John Greer and Jack Whitfield, were second and third, respectively.

Joe Vajdas, fourth, was the high man for the Texas Aggies. Other finishers: Harold Tarrant, Oklahoma fifth; Don Webster, Oklahoma sixth; and Jerry Bonnen, Jesse Hargis, Carrol Hahn and Ed Stanton, all of Texas stringing out in that order. U. of Utah Wins 21-13 Over San Francisco SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 16.

(JP) The University of Utah bottled up the University of San Francisco's Forrest Hall for three periods and defeated the Dons 21 to 13 Saturday. A crowd of 7,500 watched the Rocky Mountain Conference squad win. The Utes tallied touchdowns in the first, second and fourth periods before San Francisco gt rolling. It was too late for the Dons and the best they could garner was 13 points Northern Illinois Defeats Southern Illinois, 10-0 CARBONDALE, 111., Nov. 16.

Rudolph "Little Doc' Mabley, Nation's leading ground gainer, added 261 yards in 39 carries as he led the Cowboys to three last half counters, breaking loose once for a 56-yard jaunt.

Nov. 16. JPh- Bobby Riggs of Chicago and Don Budge of Oakland, advanced Saturday to the finals of the $5,000 professional Hard court tennis championships.

Top-seeded Riggs took the mea sure of Welby Van Horn of Knox ville, 8-6, 6-3. 6-4, and Budge ran into even stiffer competition before he downed Carl Earn of Los Angeles. 5-7, 6-4, 7-5. Earn entered the semi-finals by beating Bobby Harmon of Culver City, who in turn had eliminated 52-year-old-Big Bill Tilden in an early round. JP The University of Kansas exploded for four touchdowns in the third quarter in routing Kansas State 34-0 Saturday to remain in the running for the Big Six football championship.
