"Friendly Arkansas Looms As Real Threat In Flag Chase Porkers Outgain Toads And Look Great On Defensive Play By the Associated Press FATETTEVILLE, Oct. 7. The stock of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks as contenders for the Southwest conference football championship jumped buoyantly Saturday as the Porkers routed the Texas Christian Horned Frogs from Fort Worth, 13 to 0.

LaForge, Razorback halfback flash, accounted for both Arkansas markers, the first coming on the opening play when he tucked In Wallace's kick and raced 90 yards down the sidelines. Geiser kicked the extra point. The Porkers kept the situation well under control throughout the first half. LaForge Goes Back Going back into the lineup at the start of the second half, LaForge was checked temporarily but soon found a chance to twist his way 35 yards to score a second Arkansas marker. George Sauer, 195-pound triple threat fullback, led a machine-like Nebraska football team to a surprising 26 to 0 victory Saturday in its oepninR game against a heavier University of Texas eleven.

Sauer lashed across for the first touchdown in the second quarter slashing eight yards in one crashing, shifting drive off right tackle. He scored in the first five minutes of the third quarter, plunging tnrough for tne last two feet. Just ss the Steer line had made a bautiful gosl line stand earlv in the first quarter after the Huskers had driven through the Longhorn tackles to the yard line, -strain in the third period The Steer for-ward wall held for three downs, but faltered enough to allow a score.

The Steer passing game was inaccurate, the Cornhuskers Intercepting almost every toss. The Steers tost nearly all their pen before half the game was over and were verv tired and sltigelsh as they took the field In the second half. Both sid's played cleanly with few penalties, and both tackled hard, particularly Laurence and Smith. An injury to Coates side weakened the Texas team, but an injury to Hilliard took everything out of the team. The game halfback refused to leave the field when Tattle-field sent Hadlock He finally left of his own accord at the end of the third period.

A cold wind did not help the Steers any. It blew hard from the north and made punting difficult. Had'ock got his punts off too slow into the wind and the fast charging Hunkers ran through the Texas forward wall at will. Hilliard failed to gallop to the disappointment of the crowd. The Huskers marked him and yelled '-Hililard" every time he got to receive the ball.

The Nebraska ends and nalfbacks pjaved very wide to check Hilliard. The were battered considerably and were very disheartened bv their loss. It wiU be a long ride back to Austin. Coma in and COLLEGE FOOTBALL Olympic club 14. Nevada 6.
