CALENDAR NOTES STAGE NEWS Evelyn continues at ihb Pasadena Playhouse for a third week. Under direction of Bobker Een Ali, the cast include Jack Raine, Nigel Mc-Keand, Robert. Bocn and Sibyl Collier. Performances are scheduled nightly at 8:30 excepi Mondays, and at 2:30 p.m. Saturdays.

Helena Nash, starring in Tennessee William's "Sweet Bird of Youth" the Civic Playhouse, Is appearing in her second Williams role before Los Angeles audiences. She previously appeared the Player's Ring prodiiv- tion of "Orpheus Descending." Jeremy Slate co-stars with Miss Nash in this Edward Ludlum, Jim Mendenhall and Eet Weil production. Mail orders are being received for "The Miracle Worker" opening Dec. 4 at the Biltmore Theater for three weeks. The William Gibson play starring Eileen Brennan and Donna Zimmermann is in the sixth month of Its national tour.

It tells the story of the three weeks in the life of Helen Keller when she learned communication. "Jungle Twist," "Voodoo Blues," "Conakry Carnival" and "Witch Doctor Jazz" are new numbers in "Africana," stage revue with Graham Johnson, Norma Washington and company of 20, at the Lobero Theater, Santa Barbara, Tuesday night. The troupe will also perform Dec. 9 at the Assistance League The Limeliteis "will do two chows Saturday at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Curtain time for the first show Is 8 p.m.

and for the late show, 10:45. The folk-singing group is also scheduled for an appearance next Sunday in Long Beach at Milliken High School Auditorium. Carmen Amaya and her company of flamenco dancers and musicians will open Friday at the Casa Madrid Restaurant, 3G5 La Cienega Blvd. Jerry Gould and Al Fine have signed Miss Amaya to a three-month contract at the night spot. She will appear nightly in three shows with her company.

Ella Fitzgerald will appear in concert Dec. 8 at Pasadena Civic Auditorium and Dec. 9 at Itoyce Hall, UCLA. Accompanying Miss Fitzgerald in both shows will be Paul Smith and his trio. The Dunes Hotel has opened its new "Emerald Green" golf driving range in Las Vegas.

M. A. Riddle, president of the resort, calls the range "one of the most beautiful in the world and a definite contribution to Las Vegas' growing reputation as one of the nation's golf centers." formances will begin at 8:30. In addition she is scheduled for two performances (matinee and evening) Dec. 10, in Santa Barbara's Lobero Theater.

The stage comedy, "Under the Yum-Yum Tree" enters its 11th week at the Las Palmas theater this week. Rich-ard Long, Robert Vaughn, Denise Alexander and Barbara Stuart are featured in the production written by Lawrence Roman. "Five Finger Exercise," the Peter Shaffer drama starring Judith Playhouse. Native rituals, drum talk, spear combat, mask ballets and chants of Senegal, the Congo, Ghana, Angola and Guinea are featured. Troupe also performs Dec.

9 at Shakespeare Auditorium, Pasadena and is slated for return engagement at the Wil-shire Ebell Theater. Cornelia Otis Skinner, under the auspices of the Community Civic Music will bring her one-woman show to Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Dec. Royce Hall, UCLA, Dec. 8, and Philharmonic Auditorium, Dec. 9.
