ft. Arrlsiteet: Rose Connor THE PLAN ABOVE ia Architect Rose Connor's solution of a problem for Mrs. Grace Fuller of South Pasadena. The owner required two small houses, both for rental properties, to be built on an irregular lot, 114 feet wide by 90 feet, sloping to the southwest. The plan above was executed for a total cost of $7990, exclusive of landscaping.

Across the main street, to the east, was a school with unusually attractive landscaping. Along the south line ran a seldom-used road. The west line was bounded by a private road while at the north was the informaj garden of the adjoining house. Two problems arose: Neither the west road nor the neighbor's garden should be marred by ugly garage and service yards; and it seemed equally unwise to place such utilitarian features on the main street. The problems were solvecLby placing the double garage near the southwest corner, obscured from the road by a huge old pepper tree, and the smaller garage, adorned by a simple lattice, opposite the school.
