f' i i San Francisco Opera Due Oct 27 Varviso's conducting list includes Britten's new opera "A Midsummer Night's Dream," Mozart's "Marriage cf Figaro," and two performances of Verdi's "Rigolctto." The lengthened season will include 15 evenings, four Sunday matinees and a student matinee, Nov. 14. each of "A Masked Ball," Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammcrmoor," Verdi's "Aida" and "Na-bucco," and Puccini's "Turandot." "Nabucco" will be given Nov. 10 and as a gala Oct. 30 for the Festival of Faith and Freedom Foundation.

Ludwig, in his fourth season, will be in the pit for two performances of Wagner's "Die Meister singer," and one each of Moussorgsky's "Boris Godounoff" (in English), Norman Dello Joio's "Blood Moon" (world premiere), and Beethoven's "Fidelio." Four conductors will participate in the 25th Los Angeles season of San Francisco Opera which opens with Verdi's "A Masked Ball" Oct. 27 in Shrine Auditorium. They are Kurt Herbert Adlcr, general director of the company; Leopold Ludwig, Francesco Molinari Pradelli and Silvio Varviso. of Santa Monica will present five subscription concerts by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Conductors and soloists scheduled are Walter llendl and Leon Fleischer, pianist (Nov. 19); Hans Sehmidt-Isserstedt (Jan. 14); Laszlo Somogyi (Feb. 18); Paul Kletzki and Isaac Stern, violinist (March 25), and Kletzki and John Browning, pianist (April 10).
