The picture was originally planned as a means of acquainting easterners visiting the California Pacific International Exposition with the resources and the business facilities of the west, and the part that Transamerica organizations are playing in the development of the Pacific states.

The picture proved to be so instructive and was so well received that the management of Transamerica has been prevailed upon to authorize showings In the leading cities of California.
