Page 22 Glendale Galleria November 21-22 "The Doctor's House" Seeking New Location The Glendale Historical Society has been reactivated to pursue the relocation of "The Doctors' The Victorian structure, believed to have been built in 1889, is SO named because of the prominent Glendale physicians who once lived there. Among the distinguished residents of the house were Dr. Bogue, the physician to the Verdugo family and Dr. Hurtt, the first president of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce.

"The Doctors' House" has been recommended for pre servation in the Historical Preservation Element of the General Plan of the City of Glendale. A committee has formed to investigate the feasibility of moving the house from its present site to one usable and accessible to the entire community. GLENDALE GALLERIA In the Food Park, Lower level, near the Clock Advertising Supplement to the Los Angeles Times and Glendale heritage embodied in the house should be preserved. The approximate moving costs will reflect the actual relocation of the structure, moving utility lines and light standards and the foundation at the new site. According to Carole Dougherty, Acting Chairman of the Relocation Committee, approximately $42,000 will be needed to relocate the house and do some exterior restoration.

Additional funds will be needed for the interior restoration. The committee projects three years time to complete the restoration. Some of the advisors to the Relocation of "The Doctors' House" Committee are: Mayor Carroll Parcher; Councilmen Jack Day, Robert Garcin, Carl Meseck and Eric Schneirsohn; Bruce Medcalf who wrote the Historical Preservation Element and Barbara Boyd, Librarian of Special Collections at the Glendale Central Library. A Fund Raising Committee chaired by William Heyler has been established. Mr.
