Date of the funeral has not been set, but services will be held at Freeport, N.Y., on Long Island. Mr.

Lombardo moved here from New York last September, ending a long career with the Lombardo band, but he continued to write music until two months ago. The tenor saxophonist's songs included "Boo Hoo," and "Seems Like Old Times." He also was a frequent vocalist with his brother's band. He is survived by his wife, Florence, Writer Ralph Wheelwright Services for Ralph Wheelwright, 72, newsman, screenwriter and press agent who died Thursday at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica after a long illness, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in Sky Church, Rose Hills Memorial Park.

A native of Brooklyn, Mr. Wheelwright began his newspaper career as a cub reporter at age 14 on the 1 New York World, where his father was a cartoonist. He came to Los Angeles in the early 1920s, and was a reporter on the old Los Angeles Examiner. In 1928, he was assigned by the late William Randolph Hearst to supervise personal publicity for Marion Davies. He wrote the screenplay for "Blossoms in the Dust," starring Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon, for which he received an Academy Award nomination, Mr.

Wheelwright leaves his wife, Mrs. Phinie Green Wheelwright; a daughter, Mrs. Phinie Louise Redditt of Cordova, a son, John Wheelwright, and three grandchildren. Interment will be pri- vate. S.

He was 91. Sir John attended the last illnesses of Queen Mary, the wife of King George and King George VI, and he was present at the birth of Queen Elizabeth II's four children.
