After Tech straightened out Auburn's yesterday at Grant Field there was little left for the coaches to say by way of explanation. However, both Jack Meagher and Bill Alexander came up with a word of praise for certain individuals who figured prominently in the show that produced six touchdowns and five extra points.

I thought Harry Arthur played a nearly perfect game at end for us, and Cheatham was Auburn's star." Meagher was hard-pressed for words.

He finally kicked a clump of sod and came up with the calculation that Johnny Bosch's long run for a touchdown broke the Tigers' back. "He was the big difference in the teams and his passing kept us running around in circles. GA. TECH Pos. AUBURN Arthur L.E.

25. (JP) Louisiana State's veteran center, Bernie Lipkis, broke a deadlock with the scrappy and versatile Florida 'Gators tonight by running an intercepted pass into scoring territory and then booting a field goal to give L. S. U. a 10-to-7 victory before 20,000 spectators.

The Tigers gained this victory first touchdown on a 59-yard off-tackle sprint the first time he got his hands on the ball. Jimmy Dyer, who hails from the same county as Frazier, kicked the point to give the Baby 'Gators a 7-0 Eddie Prokop, 192-pound speedster, who played at Baylor school in Chattanooga, put the Terhs back in the ball game by racing 44 yards off left tackle to the Florida 20. There the Baby 'Gators were penalized 15 yards for holding and Prokop ripped over in two tries. Prokop calmly placekicked the point to tie the score at 7-7. Lipkis climaxed what already had been a wild and wooly gamej Tech touchdowns in the third period, roared back through the air to score all their points in the final period and threaten to do eyan better. It vas a close battle during a somewhat dull first half, with Tech holding a 7-0 advantage at intermission by virtue of Bosch's 12-yard pass to George Webb and Ralph Plaster's first of three conversions of the day. FREQUENT PENALTIES.

Frequent penalties marred play end slowed down the activities all afternoon, but it was in that first period that the boys wouldn't let the officials quit playing drop the handkerchief. Then, too, the Tigers hurt their own chances by frequent fumbles. The Yellow Jackets followed it up with little Johnny's pass to Davey Eldredge for another score, the entire play covering 33 yards, the pass 30 of it. Refusing to let the Tigers up atfer getting them down, Tech tallied again when Mutt Manning intercepted a pass and returned it 25 yards to the Auburn one, where Bobby Dodd bucked it over. The Tigers took the air for their scores in the final period, with Monk Gaffo-d, playing in the place of the injured Clarence Harkins, doing most of the tossing and a lot of the running.

In the closing seconds he returned a punt 46 yards, but fumbled on the next play to kill the threat. Auburn outdid the Jackets in all departments except the scoring, mainly because Tech second and third-stringers played almost all the second half. STATISTICS. The Tigers made 14 first downs to 9, gained 155 yards rushing to 116, 116 yards passing to 82 and were penalized only 35 yards against 58. Victory was sweet for the Jackets, following losses to Notre Dame and Vanderbilt, but defeat was bitter to the down-trodden men cf Jack Meagher, who previously lost to Tulane and S.

It started slowly with Eldredge failing to gain on a reverse. Then Dodd bucked for five and Bosch passed to Arthur for a irst down on the Tiger 15. Three running plays gained Bat McCollum, Auburn 1 line coach, wasn't making excuses, but he thought that fumbles came to his team just when it appeared to be moving.

Bill Hartman and Elmer Lampe, scouting both teams for Georgia, summed it by saying that Tech is improving and will be dangerous from now on out. "And Auburn will just about play their best game against us Saturday." Hartman, who had scouted Alabama for the Bulldogs, was disappointed, but not surprised, over the Tide victory. (JP) Nebraska battered itself to pieces on Missouri's rock-ribbed forward wall today to see its Big Six football dynasty crumble into memories as the Tigers plugged over a touchdown in the last quarter for 6-0 triumph. More than 29,000 frenzied spectators roared themselves hoarse as these two power-laden teams kept each other at bay with their vicious line work.

It was the third time in nearly 50 years of football that the Corn-huskers failed to score against Missouri. The defeat also snapped a Nebraska winning streak of nine conference games which stretched back two years to another Missouri victory. Sophomore Maurice (Red) Wade, Missouri substitute quarterback, filched a pass from Dale Bradley to start a 64-yard march to the touchdown threshold. Don (Bull) Reece, fullback, lowered his head and bulled through the center of the Huskers line for the score after a minute had elapsed in the final period. End Bert Ekern's placement was wide for the extra point.

Nebraska seized the missed point as incentive for a hopeful aerial attack which nearly panned out a touchdown before the game ended. Tries Gain Loss each of the last two quarters.
