The final score was Assies 28; Texas 0.

Agaies Full of Fight. Tight Is the greatest element a football team can possess. The Aggie team today proved that, and proved It to the satisfaction of every one concerned. Eleven first downs were earned by Texas, most of them through the super-brilliance of Leo Baldwin, the slashing side-stepper from Wichita Falls. Nine first downs were counted by the Aggies, but the Aggies counted them when they were most needed.

Delving into the statistical side of the Issue, the Aggies amassed a total of 21 points on the lowly sum of four first downs. Yet, led by Norman Dansby, Bones Irvln, Ox Dietrich and Claud Watts, the latter a product of Austin high school, the Farmers charged through to Halt Texas' hardest driving backs, stopping them at the line of scrimmage, and it was not unui Leo Baldwin was substituted that Texas could so much as dent the staunch Aggie defense. Joel Hunt Stars. Tha Farmers had their backfield stars today, but an ordinary halfback could have staggered through the splintered Longhorn forward wall. Tet nothing thai could be said about the Aggie line would dim the brilliance of Joel Hunt, a midget ball carrier, but one of the best all-around halfbacks Dana Bible has turned out since the days of Jack Mahan.

Hunt, was almost unstoppable. Plunging through the line, off tackle and around ends for gains of live to IS yards with regularity, and it was Hunt who threw the SO and 26 yard passes that made the Aggies really dangerous on the attack. Perhaps Mack Saxon, who beyond a doubt played the greatest defensive game todcy of any man on the field, could have halted the Aggie line plays himself, but Saxon was forced to drop back and protect his team on the aerial attack. Then there was Fay Wilson, an erratic player In Bible's system in years past, but honest to goodness driving halfback today. Wilson's punting was a revelation.

His slashing line plunges gained for the Aggies tljeir first down, rfhiie his defensive play was second to none, except Mack Saxon, the blonde battler of Bell county. Saxon in Great Form. No matter how the tide turned or how the breaks went, Saxon was always blocking the path of a charging Aggie. Had the Aggies been able to take Saxon out of play, it would have been nothing less than a slaughter. The greatest player on Kyle field today was Mack Saxon.

Mack generated his team smoothly, replacing Captain Wright as a signal caller. The few times he elected to carry the ball he was always good for a flvs-yard gain, while he was on the receiving end of three passes that added to Longhorn yardage. But next to Mack Saxon came Joel Hunt, the sophomore ball carrier of the Aggies, who with Saxon will go down on the 1325 football history two of the leading halfbacks in the southwest. Where Doc's Dope Was Wrong. Doc Stewart declared early in the week that If the Aggies could stop Leo Baldwin they were as good as Winners.

Leo Balwwin was not stopped. He cut off the Aggies' end from five to 40 yards and sliced off tackle and wisgled his way through the Aggies" secondary defense for long gains consistently. But Doc Stewart, not underestimating the Quality of the Aggies, had not figured the Aggies to recover a fumble and intercept a pass for a touchdown. In a football summary a recovered fumble goes In as an unearned score, but grtdmen, who battle as the Farmers battled todav. always play for such a break.

The same applies to Interception of passes, specially when a team Is willing to wildly gamble in an effort to score ft touchdown. The Orange philosophers will say that the Longhorns were beaten on the initial kick off. That is a farfetched statement But nevertheless it has its weight. Receiving the kick off. Mack Saxon dashed up the center of the field to the 23-yard line and had almost dodged the last tackier In bis path when he was hit from the side, fumbling, and Norman fsrnsby recovering, tensive and as every one knows the do not have a great defense.

Farmer Take the Air, They managed to stop the AggW first few thrusts, but seeing that their straight awsy plays could not Jo the necessary damage, the Farmers called their air line attack into action. Tbey had tried two, and on third downs earlier In the game, but the third attempt was a SO-yard pass from Joel Hunt to Bob Berry, and that pass Just about clinched the first touchdown. Wilson sliced off the left side for six yards. Here the Longhorns big bugaboo entered the game. Texas was penalised for on-mae.

On the first clav of the game Newell started around end. was tackled by the charging Aggies for an apparent 10 yard loss, then fumbled the ball, Dansby picking It up and galloping 15 yards for the second touchdown.

The third touchdown was also at Texas' expense, for Baldwin and company had marched the ball straight down the field to the 10 yard line, when Sykes Intercepted King's sidewise pass, outrunning Estes In a 80-yard chase for the third touchdown. The final touch down, however, was earned. Hunt passed to Wilson for 28 yards and then Berry chased around right end for 15 more in consecutive plays. Hunt carried the ball to the five- yard line and then Hunt passed to Berry across the goal line for a touchdown, the final of the contest. Assies' supporters flocked on the field as the game ended to give Bible his well-deserved slap on the back, but Aggie men did not overlook the crippled Charlie Deware, who led the Aggies back in 1911.
