Many spectators expressed the belief that they would have gladly paid the price of admisson even if they were only allowed to see this one play.

It went from Rufus Ktng-to Jonnie Estes who tore down the line toward the goal. As it happened, poor Johnnie fumbled, but Newell, the elongated end for the Steers, was right on the heels of Estes and he covered the ball and turned a somersault In order to get over the goal line for the final count. Facts Speak for Themselves. Perhaps the first statement ot the story in regard to Bridges being outplayed in every department or the game was not well founded, but I will let these statistics and facts speak for themselves. But the defeat was certainly not the fault of Bridges.

Ha did his best to have his team win. He was on the field to contest every decision made by the officials, and on YOU MAY HAVE PEJ GRA held his team to one first down. He was truly matched in every phase of the game. The only play that netted him anything worth while or the only move that deserves favorable mention is the one time when he sent Jones to kick a goal and then jerked him. This was attempted by Stewart hut failed.

All of his plays and formation, the freak kick, the end around and the return punt from the kickoff met with anything but success. So poorly did the end play get off that it was attempted only once. The Texas line, so well coached by B'll James, outfought and out-charged the Bruins line as can well be seen when you are reminded that Baylor made but one first down in the whole game, this one coming In the second half when Kelley broke through for a 23-yard fcaiii.
