jr' "LIFE," EXUMA Kama Sutra: Exuma was born Tony McKay on Cat Island in the Bahamas, and for several years his music has fused the spirit, of rock and roll with he long-dead spirits of the West Indies, his songs peopled with Obeah men, zombies, Engels, demons, and death. It has, In the past, somewhat paralleled the voodoo vein of Dr. John's music, but coincidentally as Dr. John's has changed from gris gris to New Orleans funk Exuma's has changed loo, casting out the demons in favor of 20th century topics and more and more rock. "Life" is his most "commercial" album to date, including "Iko Iko," the Sugarboy Crawford song that was a recent hit for Dr.

John, and the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" and "You Can't Always Get What You Want" to an electric and brass backing jiagled up with cowbells, whistles, and heavy percussion section. It still manages to be different a commodity in precious short supply these days. Lynn Van Moire I V. His songs themselves are often enigmas, shaded with a certain poetical mysticism and couched in such splendid arrangements that, in the end, it seems to matter little that his lyrics are often filled with obscurities and trivialities.

Like much of Dylan's work, Morrison's music makes its points below the surface; tho his references are often unclear, the overall mood comes thru clearly. On his last album, "St. Dominick's Preview," Morrison divided the cuts between flowing poetics and ventures into jazzier rock. "Hard Nose," his best since "Astral Weeks," makes less of a distinction. The Cuts flow into one another, Morrison as usual setting his sights on scenes and situations that have no particular resolution.

He deals, rather, in mood pictures of people and places from past and present a first "Snow in San Anselmo," viewed from a prosaic pancake the events that shaped the "Wild Children" born, like Morrison, in Learn to teach children from many cultures. Helping children from different cultures learn can be a rewarding learning experience for you. "Did you ever see the people' Morrison asks, "with the tear drops in their eyes I Just can't stand it, stand it no how, living in this world of lies." And yet he seems to have accepted it all, good and bad, with the same kind of bemused resignation.

He offers no solutions, only visions of the way it is, tempered with tie varm love that flows side by side with the resignation thru most of his music which continues to be some of the best around today. Part of its success lies in the fine folkrock approach taken by Coulson, Dean, Mc-Guiness, and Flint; part of its charm rests in the material they have chosen to Interpret. Rather than Dylan standards, they have concentrated on Dylan's less familiar gems, some heard previously only on bootlegs and some overlooked completely. Selections range from the early '60s and Dylan's preoccupation with civil and human rights "Eternal Circle," "Let Me Die in My Footsteps," and "The Death of Emmett Till" thru the early '70s "Sign on the Cross" and "Odds and Produced by Manfred Mann, the album comes complete with lyrics.
