William II. Taliaferro Dr. William H. Taliaferro, 78, former dean of the division of biological sciences at the University of Chicago, died Friday in a convalescent home in La Grange. Dr.

Taliaferro, a distinguished research scientist in parasitology and immunology, retired from the university In 1960, after which he did research at the Argonne National Laboratory until 1969. He is survived by his widow, Lucy, also a holder of a doctorate in biology, who aided Dr. Taliaferro in his research. Under the terms of his will, Dr. Taliaferro's body was given to the University of Chicago for research.
