Despite the topsidedness of the score, Gonzaga held the edge in statistics, making eight first downs and 188 yards from scrimmage nd passes.

The Staters made only four "first downs and 175 yards from scrimmage. The Beaver defense held in the pinches, however. The Beavers scored in every quarter after holding a 12 to 6 lead at half time. The great punt returns by Gray and long gains through the line by Mountain, who picked up tremendous momentum' as he passed the line of scrimmage, netted most of the scores. Mountain scored the second touchdown early in the second quarter.

Mountain Rons 80 Yards The Beavers got the ball on Gon-zaga's 84 yard line when a pass was ruled complete for interference. Mountain then made four yards at guard and on the next play eut back through the Bulldog right tackle for SO yards and a touchdown. Mountain made another' threat just before the half with a 21 yard dash but a fourth down pass was incomplete over the goal. 4 In the third quarter the score mounted fast Olson kicked to Gray who returned the punt 50 yards to the Gonzaga 21 yard stripe. Gray then smacked center for three and Kolberg made five.

Then with fourth down Gray rammed off left tackle for 11 yards and ended over the goal. Stan McClurg kicked the point, Three plays later- the Beavers had another touchdown. On the first play after the kickoff Schultc, McClurg and Deming broke through and blocked Olson's quick kick with Schulti recovering in the end zone for a touchdown. McClurg again converted, The two teams punted back and forth until the middle of the last quarter. The rain started early and soon became a torrent. Fumbles and slipping gave neither aide a threatening attack until late in the see- jond quarter when Hoobler broke awajMor Z5 yards to tne live yara line. On the fourth down Hoobler went over fer College of Idaho's fifii touchdown. Hoobler attempted running conversion which failed by inches. The third quarter was a punting bee with the ball changing hands every other play.

Late in the third Albany took the ball to College of Idaho's four inch line only to lose it on a fumble. There was no scor-ing in the third. i In the fourth College of Idaho punted to Albany's 30 yard line and on the first play Captain Cook scored Albany's lone touchdown. The kick by Patterson wns good, putting Albany for a brief period one point ahead. In the closing minutes of the fourth period Hoobler went out, replaced by Whelchel who took the ball on his first play for the second touchdown running 40 yards through the entire Albany team.

The kick was blocked. Final score: College of Idahd 12; Albany college 7. There has been no dragging out of contests on this rears If' a player was not on hand during the week -assigned to play his match it was forfeited to the player who was ready.

The most interesting match of the sen us thus far has. been the one between McDevitt and Oehler. They played their 18 boles last week for a tie and played an other 18 last Sunday which McDevitt won on the eighteenth hole. He had Oehler down four at the twelfth hole but the attorney filed in injunction with his putter-on three succeeding holes reducing Mc's lead one on the seventeenth. If Oehler had won th'e eighteenth, there would have been another tie and another 18 hole match, 'but, his injunction against Mc proved to be but temporary and as he failed to sink a long putt on the eighteenth for a tie, he sighed, MNon efficit affectus nisi sequa- which as we understand it is a legal phrase meaning intentions are no good without result and til with the putter.

Mc will play Stiles. Sunday, who won from Wooddy. Knoll and Englestead have until Saturday to play their match thus far "this week, but hope to do so. The winner will be matched up with Dearborn, who won from Gill 2 and 1. Sven Johnson won from Jensen and will play Guy Frink.

Frink won Sunday from Frank Parr. The coming: Sunday will narrow the field down to the finals, which require the playing of 36 holes to decide the cup winner for 1935. Albany Now in Tie With Knox, Hobart Schools CALDWELL, Oct. -A driving 'rain put slippery heels under the College of Idaho last night and, as a result, threatened for a time to break the Albany Powell in "Page Miss Glory." The Bulldogs threatened late in the last quarter led by George Kar-amatie and with a team composed entirely of sophomores playing against the Beaver third string. Karamatic showed some flashy form and had the ball on Oregon State's two yard mark when the gun sounded. The game was wide open from start to finish with long runs, blocked kic.ks and intercepted passes creating the excitement Punting on both sides was extremely good. Olson did all the kicking for Gonzaga and averaged 89 yards. Brande, Woerner; Mountain and Weaver all did the kicking chores for State and averaged 38 yards.
