This Sunbonnet Will Do' Pert Little Gal Tells Women At Centennial Bonnet Booth SPRING BONNETS in Corvallis in this "Year of Our Lord, 1957," are sure to be sunbonnets as the feminine population, ages 4 to 94, step back 100 years to dress just like folks did in pioneer times. Picture pretty on the left is Little Jolyn McDowell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy N. McDowell of Kings Valley, who fits in the age four category and has already chosen her "Centennial Dozens of sunbonnets, made by members of the Corvallis Woman's club, are being put on sale this Friday and Saturday at Nolan's to help the club raise proceeds to finance a Centennial exhibit.

Pictured below, Isabel Miller and Elaine Heckart of the Woman's club sell a bonnet to Sue Rudie. Each bonnet comes in a gay print or bright color to complete an authentic costume with style and variety to suit any of the pretty pioneer costumes being planned. Bonnets will be worn by the women from now until June while the men wear beards. Corvallis High Students Plan For Convention The state Future Business Leaders of America week is in full swing now with Corvallis members participating in preparations for the state convention to be held on April 12 and 13 at Oregon State college. Climaxing the convention will be the nomination and election of next year's state officers.

The election campaign will begin tonight (Friday) with a large banquet and campaign speeches. Nonimees were previously selected enembers. different clubs and their After the speeches, members will conclude the evening discussing the candidates and their qualifications the different offices. Elections will be held on Saturday morning, followed by "buzz sessions" on many subjects. A luncheon will be held with the convention theme "Stand Up and Reach High" featured in the decorations.

The Corvallis club is in charge of the decorations with Phyllis Van Zyl serving as chairman in charge. The luncheon vill be the closing event of the convention. Corvallis high school chapter officers making plans for the vention are Sharon Thompson. president: Linda Mosier, president Coletta Carney, secretary: Vivian Ellsworth. treasurer and Janice Wrigglesworth, recorder.

Food Demonstrator To Visit Campus Mrs. Beth Bailey McLean of Swift and company, Chicago will visit the food. nutrition and food technology departments Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs.

McLean works under the name Martha Logan. She is the author of "Meal Planning and Table "'The Complete Meat and the "Young Women in Business." Mrs. McLean is an outstanding person in the field of food demonstration and has helped to popularize the principles of food preparation, 'according to Dr. Margaret L. Finske, head of foods and nutrition.

Mrs. McLean is a graduate of Stout institute and Iowa State college. and at one time was on staff of Iowa State. She will be a house guest at the home of Dr. and Mrs.

H. W. Schultz. Dr. Schultz is head of food technology.

Hall "Together, We Make Tomorrow, Camping" was the theme of the Philomath Camp Fire Girls annual dad daughter banquet held at the V.F.W. hall. Over 225 girls and dads attended.

The dinner was potluck, with each group, their dads and leadlers seated at tables decorated with camping motifs by the girls and leaders. Master of ceremonies Dave Brown. The invocation was given by Rev. Earl Baker and the girls sang the "Camp Fire Prayer." Geary Larson of the "Happy Blue Birds" welcomed the dads. Response was given by Raymond Gellatly.

The "Napkin-skit" was given by the fly-up Blue Birds 1 and 2" and the "Cheerful Blue Happy Blue Birds sang Three Little Dicks" and all of the girls sang a group of camp songs. Mrs. Elmore Payne, camp director, showed camp slides. These slides in color featured several scenes of dads working at the camp and various scenes of girls activities at the camp. Milo Askay spoke on work to be done by the dads at Camp Since funds from United Fund are not used for maintaining the camp, all of the improvements must be done by volunteers and all materials used are donated.

Askay introduced Bob McFarland and Cecil Riker as the new Wedding Date Set by Couple Mrs. Homer B. Davis of Brooks announces the engagement of her daughter, Anita May, to Gary William Rodgers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nigel E.

Rodgers of Corvallis. The wedding will be an event of July 28. The bride-elect attended school in Salem and is now employed in that city. Mr. Rodgers is a graduate of Corvallis high school and is now employed at Vern's Sports Center.

4-H Clubs Meet At the Schools The Busy Beaver Canning and Flower 4-H clubs met last Friday at the Inavale school. I Deanna Dunn gave a demonstration on making hanging baskets and reported on the best flowers and plants to use. The canning club discussed freezing and each member took part in the discussion. The May meeting will be on May 10th. A 4-H club business meeting was held at Kings Valley school according to Gale Lalley, Women Deans Plan Weekend Visit Here Approximately 75 deans of women and girls from Oregon colleges and high schools are expected on campus Saturday for the annual Oregon association meeting of the group.

Dr. John Watkins, chief clinical psychologist of the Veterans administration, will address the group following the luncheon. Also on the program will be a business meeting at which time there will be committee reports, election of officers, and the installation of new officers. Miss Helen S. Moor, OSC dean of women, will preside as the outgoing president.

Other officers are Mrs. Mary State, Corvallis high school, vice president: Ruby Peregrine, Pacific university, secretary; and Mrs. Kathleen Knight, Junction City high school, treasur. er. Reports will be given concerning the national convention in San Francisco.

Miss Moor and Miss Mary R. Robinson, assistant dean of women, were among the 25 Oregon deans in attendance at the convention. Registration and a coffee hour will begin the convention at 9 a.m. followed by the business.
