i "Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii," a 90-minute concert, proved again that time has not diminished Presley's polished skills. Shaking his leg and curling his lip in an amusing parody of what everybody got excited about in the 50s, Presley quickly reminded us where Tom Jones and all the others discovered their acts. j. Fun Begins "Presley has had an undeniable influence on rock music. This program, a benefit taped at the Honolulu International Center for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund, was a testimony to that music chronologically advancing from early days to the present.

The show started off innocently, ith Presley giving restrained performances of, "C.C. Rider" and "Burning Love." Then the fun began with a seven-song medley of oldies including "Hound Dog" and "Blue Suede Shoes." From then on, Presley Could do'no wrong. Aired Wednesday at 10 p.m. on NBC. came a television milestone. Par ticularly stunning was his rendition of "An American Trilogy," and the poignant "I'll Remember You," written by the late Kui Lee. Overall, it was one of those rare television moments, certainly worth repeating and every inch the quality showcase for its star.
