This year the Glendale Fashion Center celebrates its ninth anniversary with satisfaction in meeting the customers' needs since its opening in 1966 and looking forward to continuing to serve the greater Glendale area in the years ahead, they report.

The Glendale Fashion Center was a pioneer in the area, the first of its kind in Glendale, formed by a forward looking group of community minded citizens who recognized the need for this new and centralized type of facility to serve the Glendale residents, and to attract shoppers from the surrounding area. Comprised of many well-known Southern California stores (together with the best of the varied kinds of specialty stores) the Glendale Fashion Center was designed to meet the diverse requirements of the selective customers in today's competitive merchandising environment. Most of the stores in the Glendale Fashion Center today were part of the center at the grand opening.
