The $7-million tower was designed by Lee Linton & Associates of Las Vegas and constructed of bearing block construction. Circus Circus Opening Second 15-Story Tower Circus Circus, Las Vegas, Nev. hotel and casino, will open its second 15-story hotel tower in late May, providing 800 guest rooms and suites and a 12.684-square-foot convention hall. The $7-million increment was designed by Lee Linton & Associates of Las Vegas and features bearing block construction by Phylcon Inc., also of Las Vegas. Although an official date has not yet been set for grand opening ceremonies, a spokesman for the hotel said 200 rooms would be ready for use this week and that others would be made available in units of 200 until all were completed. The 6V-year-old hotel-casino opened its first 400-room tower in Virginia Firm Acquired First American Title Insurance Co., Santa Ana, has acquired Jefferson Pilot Title Agency, Annandale, Va., and is operating it as the mid-Atlantic regional office of First American. 1972. A property of CIRCO Resorts Inc., it features an indoor midway of carnival games, rides and circus acts that has brought the hotel fame as a family-oriented desert resort. In keeping with its name and entertainment fare, rooms in the new tower will feature brilliant color schemes and tiger and zebra skin motifs. Architect Bray to Design New Tract Los Angeles architect William A. Bray has been selected to design R. G. R. Construction Co.'s new tract development in Lomita, the third project Bray has undertaken for the Harbor City firm. The new Lomita project is expected to consist of 10 to 12 three- and four-bedroom houses in the $47,000 to $50,000 price range. They will be east of Western Ave. and south of Pacific Coast Highway. Plans Afoot for Retirement Villa in Sun Valley Plans have been announced by the Scalabrini Fathers of Los Angeles for construction of a $3-million Italian Retirement Center at Wheatland Ave. and Vinedale St in the Sun Valley section of the San Fernando Valley. As planned, the two-level, 100,000-square-foot structure will occupy about a third of a 6.5-acre site that is presently zoned R-l. The center's request for a conditional use permit will be heard by the Los Angeles Planning Commission May 16 at the Van Nuys American Legion Hall, according to a center spokesmaa Called Villa Scalabrini, the facility will comprise 200 resident rooms, chapel, auditorium, gymnasium and recreation area including a bocce court. Residents' rooms will open out onto a landscaped patio area, according to architects George Fitzpatrick and Panos Koulermos. The proposed project will be one of four retirement homes administered by the Scalabrini Fathers nationwide. It is being financed by individual contributions and by Unico National, Sons of Italy and the Garibaldini Society, and a $l,000-a-plate banquet last weekend at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel drew more than 500 donors.
