The commisssion will be the second local group moving on the jury question. George Williams, president of the Riverside NAACP, said a subcommittee of his organization plans to ask county jury commissioner Jim Berger for a meeting to discuss the problem. A study earlier this year Indicated that percentages of Negroes and Mexican-Americans serving on juries in Superior and Municipal courts are substantially below their proportions of the populations in the court districts.

The county's superior court judges took up the question at a session this spring. "The consensus was that we are meeting requirements of the law as we now have the system set up," said John Gab-bert, presiding judge. The county's courts select jurors from voter lists, by random numbers. Most reported difficulties in getting many minority group members to serve. 4f? ALL STORES INCLUDING THS NEW AND.
