Canton sifts thru rabble of twister that killed 3 Volunteers began wading thru the shambles of Canton Thursday, attempting to dig out from the devastation of a tornado that ripped the community of 14,200 Wednesday night killing three persons and injuring 74. Electrical power in the town 35 miles southwest of Peoria was still out Thursday, and police, guard dogs, National Guardsmen, and civil defense personnel were needed to quell looting. Practically every building in Canton's business district was left roofless by the tornado but most residential areas were barely untouched. Story on page 3.
