GRISWOLD, lOtis 88 South street. BFXKWITH PILLS. I yiasKS. TURNER HUGHES having been duly iiivesird witli authority to sell, and apponit agenls for the sale of ibis valuable medicine, are now executing orders to a laigo extent, at their office, 180 Broadway, New i receipt of regular surihe3 direct from the "factory, undei the immediate supervision ot' the inventor, at Raleigh, K. O.

These Pilishava been extensively known ill Carolina lor ny years, though never offered to the public as an article of saie uil within a few years past. Those who are yet unacquainted with the properties of these Pills, are informed that Ihey are successfully employed in a. most every variety of functional uisordeisof the Stomach, Bowels, Liver and Spleen such as heariburn. acid eiuciations, nausea, headache, pain and distention of the stomach and bowels, incipient Diarrhoea, Cholic, Jaundice, Flatulence, habitual Cosuvtness, loss of appetite, sick headache, seasickness, iic. They are a safn and cerafortable Aperient for Females during pregnancy and subsequent confinement, relieving sickness at the stomach, headache, heartburn and many of the incidental nervous affections.

Literary men. students, and most other persons of sedentary habits, find them yery convenient. Those who indulge too freely in the pleasures of the table, find speedy relief from the sense of oppression aod distention which follow, by taking the Pills. As a dinner Till they aie invaluable. Those who aredrirkmg mineral waters an 1 particularly those Irom southern climates, and ague and fever district, will find ihem a vaUab'c adjunct.

Those who aro exposed the vicissitudes of weather, on voyages or journeys, can take them at all times with perfect safety. In full doses they are a highly efficacious and safe A nti Bilions Meoicine. They seldom or never produce sickness at the stomach or gi iping. The foHowing history of the Pills, and evidence of their efficacy, has been furnished us by Er. B.

Gentlemen More than twenty years ago, I resided several yeais in one of the principal towns in the low counay in this state, employed in the practice of Physic, when in consequence of an attack of Yellow Fever, succeeded by a protracted quartan ague, 1 was compelled to change my residence, and settled in this city. My Liver and Spleen had become enlarged, and Iheir functions greatly deranged. I bad frequent and obstinate attacks of Jaundice, with atlt ndant, or perhaps consequent Dysp psia, in many of its distressing forms. Agreeably to the usual medical treatment, ditferent preparations of Meicury were used in conjunction wilh other remedies, but with the uniform effect nf producing an extensive inflammation upon the surface resembling Erysipelas, and known lo Pliysicians by the name of Mercinial Erythema. I vtas at length obliged to abandon its use altogether, and to tax my resources lor some substitute lor Mercuiy under such peculiar circumstances.

Aflei much investigation and many trials, the composition of ihe Pills was hit upon, and answered my ut mt st wishes and expectations. My health way perfectly restored, and although since that period, I have had lour severe attacks of bilious lever, arising from exposuie to the vicissitudes of a southern climate, wl le in exiensive piofessional pursuits, I have never taken one particle of mercury in any form, and still enjoy sou id health. Having sub sequently, freqeeut occasions to prescribe for cases of a similar character, but under a great variety of modifications, the Pills came into very common use in my practice and as the afflicted are mually communicative of their complaints and their remedies, each has contributed lo extend the reputation and use of the Pills, Ull at length the demand for them greatly exceeds my leisure to supply. With regard to your request for certificates of their ef ncucy 1 could furnish more than you would be wil'lng lo publish, from persons of both sexes, and among the most intelligent in Ihe Slate but I think it very idle, as they are seldom of any value beyond the immediate circle of the writer's acquaintance. I will, however, give you two which were sent mc by Physicians whose integrity and pielessumal respectability are sufficiently stubl.

shed. Beyond this the Pills must rest upon their vn intrinsic vi' luu. 1 am personally answerable for itieir composition, and for Iheir applicability lo the cases in which they are recommended. They contain no Meicury nor any other Mineial they are purely vegetable. To pret.

n'd that they are an n.fallible remedy in every state of disease for which Ihey are recommended, would be nonsense but that they have Droved to be more cenerallv and extensively safe and useful than any oihei article of Ihe sort wilh which i am acquaint, I coutldently assert liom ample experi ence. I hey have for many years been the established domestic medicine in many families in ditferent tectums of this State. as well as in my own. Yours, 6iC 'JOHN BECK WITH, M.
