The Buffalo Bills turned New York's gold-dust quar terback twins John Huarte and Joe Namath into poor little rich boys and routed the Jets 30-14 Saturday in an American Football League exhibition. Huarte, 1964 Heisman Trophy winner from Notre Dame, was given a violent reception by the defending AFL champs as he made his first start of the exhibition season. Huarte completed only 2 of 11 passes for a scant 20 yards as he played the entire first half. Two of his passes were intercepted and turned into Buffalo touchdowns.

Huarte missed his first five passes and was able to direct the Jets to only one first down. Namath, the $400,000 rook ie from Alabama, fared little better. He completed only 6 of 24 passes for 72 yards and had two intercepted. Buffalo coach Lou Saban started his No. 2 quarter back, Daryle Lamonica, who preceded Huarte at Notre Dame by three years.

Ryan may give way to Jim Ninowski. Cleveland is in fine fettle for today's skirmish, with the exception of injured end Paul Warfield. Still, the Rams will field a representative. backfield, opening with Big Ben Wilson and Les Josephson. This pair may not fool you, but tney can hurt you. Cleveland, of course, has the ultimate weapon Brown. But stopping him doesn't necessarily insure success.

The Rams must also put a clamp on Ryan and his dash ing ends Gary Collins, Cliff McNeil, Johnny Brewer and Walter Roberts. So, you can see the problems confronting Harland Svare. All things being equal and throwing out that 56-31 thing the Rams must ge nerate more offense to stay with Cleveland today.
