conducted by Bro. C. H. Williams; this being our study course evening, our teacher, Rev. L.

D. Stevens gave a very interesting anl instructive lesson on the Bible and its many books, and their classes, showing by blackboard 'outline, the historical, poetical law--major and minor prophets and the Gospels and Epistles. It was indsed a treat and We imagined ourselves seated in some great Theological School, listening to some wonderful professor. Never in the history of our church, has such teacher been ours; he is not only a preacher but pastor and teacher and citizen that the community is proud to have. The choir was decked out in their robes Sunday evening and marched in singing, "When the Saints Go Marching In." Our choir is improving in their singing right along, but we are sorely in need of ma'e voices.

Wright on N. State St. Heathman, News. To The Negro more I some to dron a few words to the many readers of The Star, since I am one who has our country at heart, feeling sad over the condition of our country, I have a special warning for our people. Listen friends! Don't forget our God, for He will hear our prayer, if we will serve and trust Him for His word, for He is able and willing; all power is in His Hand.

The Lord is mighty in battle. I have traveled from Mississippi to Gary, Indiana and I have not found one place that seemed like paradise to me, yet I have not seen paradise, but I believe it is a place of peace and happiness. Let me ston and think, that it was God that bro't the children of Israel out of Egypt; and He is the same God today. President Harding can not help us if God be against us; and no one can keep us bound if God is for us. Let us try our God one more time and then try Him again and again; but the first thing to do is to take self examination and get right ourselves- this is special to the leaders.

So much strife, hatred and malice have caused us to suck sorrow. 1 havd decided to sacrifice my time and talent to wake up our people to their religious duty towards God and man. Quit being misled by unprepared leaders, stay at home, work hard, save our money and educata our children, build better homes, schools and churches and give God honor and we will have the victory. David said, the Lord is our Shepherd and We shall not want. Let me say a word about our church workWe have built a very nice church at Browning, (in 1920) and it got burned and was built under my leadership; it cost us $4000, in 1921 we put up another one as before and also built a $3000 Industrial High School at the same time in a place where there was not but one grocery store and no depot at all.

This of itse'f, will tell you that my people and I are on the job. I am delivering the goods. I am at Browning, the 1st Sundey, Shaw, the 2nd Sunday, and Lake Henry, the 3rd; the white people of Heathman are very loyal, they gave me $6000 last year to heip me PEOPLE'S FUNERAL HOME 1155 Wabash A Place Prepared For Our Loved Ones When They Fall Asleep. up I must go. Mr. Lawn Cockrel of Lake Henry says he is going to do as much as any other white man to help his colored people and their leader. Now let us do away with this grave and preach what we yard preaching of God's Word; then after read out done that let us look to the we have Lord and be dismissed; and when we do that, we will see that the clouds cf sorrow will pass over. Yours for the Race, (Rev.) E.
