TWELVE MASON CITY GLOBE-GAZETTE, APRIL 7 · 1936 BUILDING, HOUSE FURNISHING SHOW APRIL 14 TO 16 Suggestions on How to Build and Equip Homes Will Be Shown in Exhibits. Suggestions on how best to build a modern home from the standpoint ot materials and styles of architecture will be given at the fourth annual building and home furnishing show to be held at the high school gymnasium in Mason City April 14, If. and 16 under the sponsorship of the North Iowa Builders exchange. Then too, there will be ideas presented on how to pay for the house under the federal housing act, there will be all kinds of suggestions on how to install the electric fixtures to get the right lighting effects and graphic methods presented for the selection of paints and interior decorating. The new realm of color that has opened in the field of plumbing fixtures such as the equipment for the kitchen and the bathroom will be among the interesting things to be seen at the show. Scores of other exhibits of things used in the building and furnishing of a home will be shown. There will be various types of roofing, the latest developments in wallpaper, the newest thing in furniture and other articles such as wash machines and refrigerators. Mark Harpster, chairman of the committee in charge, and his assistants are now at work making preparations for the biggest show ever held in Mason City. It is their view the business tide has turned and that the building and home furnishing industry is on the upward trend.
