Absent Councilmen Burns . and Knudson. The action, of January 19, 1931, fixing the first Tuesday of each month aa the date for holding the regular meetings of this Council was rescinded, and the first Mon- day in each month at 1:30 P. M. set for the date of regular meetings. ' ' Petitions to the County Board of Supervisors asking for the suspension of taxes, for the current year, on several' properties were presented by Ira Stinson, Assessor. The same were approved and the Clerk directed to certify same to the County 'Auditor for action by the Board of Supervisors. A petition asking for the construction of a storm sewer, east of Federal, was presented, and the matter referred to the City Manager to investigate and report to this Council at an early date. Mr. W. J. Hughes, representing the Peoples Gas Electric Corni pany, was present and presented a blue print showing the changes proposed in the construction of the dam across Willow Creek, at their plant, in their endeavor to better control flood conditions. Mr. O. Farrer requested the Installation of a street light at the- intersection of Elm Driva and North Pennsylvania Avenue. The request was referred to Manager Hopkins for such action as seemed best. Mr. Hopkins, City Manager, suggested to the Council, for their consideration, that the City procure trucks for the handling of garbage, stating that the present method was nob entirely satisfactory. Mr. Hopkins thought that the expense might not be materially less yet in many ways better service would be given the householder, if the work was handled by the City. 1 J. H. McEWENT, City Clerk.
