(ft\-- Cate in only 16 Iowa counties have ot yet been given a state supervis- d test under the state tuberculin aw, Dr. H. A. Seidell, chief of the areau of animal industry, said to- ay. Tests in six of these are nearinp ompletlon, and these six counties rfll be accredited by the end of the ear, Dr. Seidell said. The six are Cherokee. Henry, tfuscatine, Tama, Floyd and Clayon. The 10 in which testa will not e complete, this year are Ply- louth, Des Molnes, Grundy, Bntler, Mckasaw, Bremer, Buchanan, Faytte, Winneshiek and Allamakee. Accredited counties, Dr. Seidell explained, are those in which lea? jan one-half ot 1 per cent of the ounty's cattle are diseased. Wont Test Now. 'Producers in a number of these ounties," Dr. Seidell said, "have one an about face. They want the est now--both for economic and di- ease prevention purposes." Counties with untested herds, he .sserted, have been penalized in astern produce markets. Thirty-one counties in the state will be reaccredited by July 1, Dr. .eidell said. They are Lyon, Clay, 'alo Alto, Buena Vista, Franklin, Cerro Gordo, Webster, Woodbury, Irawford, Carroll, Greene, Boone, 'age, Rlnggold, Wapello, Story, teuton, Jones, Harrison, Audubon, Dallas, Iowa, Johnson, Case, Madi,on, Washington, Mills, Montgomery, Union, Decatur, Marshall. 100 Per Cent Free, Referring to a proposed AAA dairy program in which five million dollars would be used for tubercu- osis eradication, Dr. Seidell coronented: If a million dollars in demnitiee for condemned cattle were made foi :owa farmers, we soon could make the state practically 100 per cent free of tuberculosis." He indicated most of this fund would be used in northeastern Iowa, where infection is believed to be more prevalent than in other sections. 1934. In District Court, January Terni, STATE OF IOWA.
