MASON CITY GLOBE-GAZETTB City-Wide O L L A R D A Y In Mason City REDUCED RATES FORDOLLARDAY Railroads Co-Operative in Mason City's Big Sales Event. '.-· All five of Mason City's railroads have announced reduced rates to ' Mason City and return for the accommodation of dollar shoppers on Thursday, Fet. 26. The reduced rates are applicable on the Great Western from Kenyon, Minn., to Lyle, Minn., inclusive, and · from Fort Dodge to Swaledale, in- .elusive. On the Milwaukee the spe- . cial rates are' applicable from Calmar to Portland, inclusive and from Emmetsburg to Clear Lake, inclusive. The M. and St. L. has announced reduced rates from IAs-~ comb to Rockwell on the south and from' Waseca, Minn., to Manly on the north. On the Northwestern the rates will apply from Traer to Hanford on I the south and from Fairmont, Minn., ' to Hanlontown on the north. The Rock Island rates apply to all points from Nevada to Owatonna, Minn. The railroads announced one fare for a round trip, with the minimum fare of ?1. This applies to all trains of Feb. 25, arriving iri Mason City up to Feb. 26 at) 3 p. m. The return limit malces it necessary for passengers to reach starting: point by midnight on .Feb. 27. Tickets are good only in coaches. No baggage will be checked and no stopovers allowed. H UNDREDS of shoppers will throng Mason City's stores in celebration of Dollar Day Thursday, February 26. Scores of automobiles from all sections of North Iowa will bring crowds of people. Many are expected on trains as the railroads have announced reduced rates to Mason City and return for the accommodation of Dollar Day shoppers. The merchants of Mason City, after months of planning and preparation, expect this Dollar Day to be the largest ever held in the city. Both winter and spring merchandise will be on sale. Hundreds of items will be specially priced at one dollar and lots of articles will be offered at other sale prices. Apparel and accessories for men, women and children . . . needs for the home . . . all will be on display. You are cordially invited to attend this citywide Dollar Day, one of North Iowa's greatest merchandising events. Come with your friends . . . make it a day long to be remembered. Thursday, February 26 ... that's the date.
