TWENTY-TWO MASON CITY GLOBE-GAZETTE, MARCH 5 §· 1936 SMART NAMED TO STATE BOARD Ottumwa Man Fills Vacanc on Conservation Left by Boone Death. DES MOINES, (/P)--Gov. Clyde L Herring- Thursday appointed Rosco E. Stewart of Ottumwa to fill th vacancy on the state board of con servation created by the reccn death of Dr. William C. Boone o Ottumwa. The term expires July 1, 1941. Stewart, an ardent sportsman, L president of the Ottumwa Rotary 'club, a former service man and is connected with the Ottumwa Mer cantile company. Mrs. McKee Is Fully Recovered From Her Attack of Yawning MORRISON, III., OP)--Mrs. Harod McKee, the "yawning woman," has completely recovered from an attacking of yawning and vomitting which began Feb. 23. Mrs. McKee's distressing symptoms began to abate last Saturday but recovery is complete now, according to Dr. H. L. Pet.tit, her physician. ' . It was Mrs. McKee's third attack. The first in 1934 continued nine days and the second last fall, lasted 11 days. Mrs. McKee ran the gamut of stomach disturbances as an accompaniment to the yawning. At the outset the gaping was accompanied by vomiting. When that ceased she merely gagged and finally began to hiccough. Suspended Clinton Postoffice Employe Takes His Own Life CLINTON, (/P)--Jesse H. Sharp, suspended postal employe Thursday ended his life by taking poison, it was revealed by Coroner L. O. Riggert. Sharp recently was bound over to the April federal grand jury after pleading guilty to embezzlement of S15 from a letter after being caught in tie act in the local postoffice by .postal inspectors. He is survived by his wife and several children. Maley of Waterloo, Father of Attorney General Aide, Dies WATERLOO, (/P)--Joseph Sever- toe Maley, 73, father of Walter F, Maley, first assistant attorney general of Iowa, died Thursday at his home in Waterloo, following cerebral hemorrhage suffered last Friday. He had been ill of a heart and kidney ailment for the last two years. Surviving are his widow in Waterloo; three sons, Albert J., Du- Euque; Walter F., Des Moines, and Dr. J. J., Pierre, S. Dak.; three daughters, Jessie, Winifred and Lor- eSta, all of Waterloo. Part of Day Shift of Student Nurses at Hospital Strikes DES MOINES, UP)--Part of the day shift of student nurses at Mercy hospital struck for two hours Thursday morning, forcing hospital authorities to call in registered nurses to maintain hospital service. Sister Immaculata. said she announced at breakfast that all nurses' privileges would be withdrawn until the notice was replaced and s that the strike followed. ...Hospital authorities refused to say whether the notice was replaced or what disciplinary action would be taken against the strikers. B; Tyler are leveling the balcony floor and making the windows soundproof. New stationary folding chairs will be installed.
