_"« I',! MASON CITY GLOBE-GAZETTE, JANUARY 14 · 1937 FIFTEEN RITES PLANNED FOR FINLAYSON Buffalo Center Victim of Heart Attack Will Be Buried Saturday. BUFFALO CENTER--Calvin G. Finlayson, who had been in poor health for three years, died Wednesday following a heart attack Tuesday, from which he never recovered. Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday after- coon. Born Deo. 2, 1851, at Mount Carrol, 111., he moved to Armstrong in 1900 and was married in 1902 to Lottie Sterling of Cedai Falls. In 1912 they moved here. Surviving are his wife, foui sons, John at home and Robert of San Diego, Harry and Wilbur at home, three grandchildren and a sister, Miss Jennie Finlayson of. Winewood, Okla. Budapest Curbs Night Clubs. BUDAPEST, (UP)--No more night clubs will be allowed to open in Budapest, The Hungarian authorities made this decision at the request of the owners of the 20 existing night clubs. The owners said there is hardly enough business to maintain the existing clubs. Honesty Begets Honesty. WEIHTON, W. Va., (UP)-When in 1924 a streetcar motorman returned $200 Joseph Shurrell had lost, Shurrell vowed he would be just as honest if the opportunity ever arose. Recently, he returned to Mrs. Theofilo Yakovich, of Imperial, Pa., §300 she lost in his tavern. Oxford Honor For ( Class Test Goes to Page Family Scion OXFORD, Eng., (UP)--Henry A. Page of Asheville, N. Car., great-nephew of the late Walter Hines Page, war-time ambassador to Great Britain, Is adding distinction to a name already, well- known in England. It has just been announced by the governing body o£ Christ Church college, Oxford, where Page is a Rhodes scholar, that he had been awarded the Boulter Exhibition in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, carrying with it a prize of $200. The award is given for the highest marks in the practice examinations which are taken annually 'by the 25 or 30 undergraduates of Christ Church who are studying for the Bachelor of Arts degree in "Modern Greats," the Oxford term for the course in philosophy, politics and economics. The Bout- ler exhibition was won last year by another Rhodes scholar, H. G. Skilling of Toronto. Page was graduated from Princeton university in 1935, and is now in the second year of his Rhodes scholarship. Day Given First Place. GARNER--A comedy one act play, "Tantrum," one of three plays that will replace declamatory work in Hancock county schools, judged by Mrs. Hammond of Clear Lake, placed first in the home elimination contest Tuesday night at the high school auditorium.
