Board Okays New, Hancock Drain Ditch GARNER -- Hancock County supervisors this week tentatively approved the report of Vcrn Miller, HumboUlt, drainage engineer re. cently appointed Jo'make an investigation and report on the necessity of the establishment and con- gtrucUon of a new drainage district In Sees. 23 and 24, Twin Lake Township. Miller's report recommended the establishment and construction. Futher hearing on the petition and report of the engineer will be had nl the courthouse at 3:."W p. m. Monday, Sept. 29. The engineer estimates' tJie cost of the new project to be $5,309 and his report includes 13C acres in the watershed of the proposed new district. The improvement-was petitioned for by William .]»nnssen, et al. Probe 2 Robberies in Mitchell County OSAGE--Sheriff Lewis . llabcr- korn is investigating two recent brcakins in Mitchell County at which some cash and other loot was taken. ' One was at the'Orchard store where the burglars got an electric raxor valued at $24.50, two iwcket knives, $50 worth of rifle shells, tin snippers, leather gloves and other articles. They also tampered with the safe but were unable lo open It. Entry was gained through the top half of a window at the rear of the building. The St. Ansgar recreation parlor was also broken.inlo and $14.70 in cash was taken, also'about'$25 worth of clgarels and probably »ome small articles. Hold Rites Friday for Iowa Falls'Man "* IOWA FALLS--Funeral services for Russell Clark Sanders, 39, who died at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Wednesday, will .bo held at the Bradford Church Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
