Rohlman, archbishop of Dubuque, as the chaplain for the Mason City Council of tho Knights of Columbus, according to Dr. A. W. McGuirc, grand knlgHl. The newly elected officers, along with tho trustees of the council are Joining in an effort to develop a new five-point program for the coming year, Dr. McGulrc stated. George Ifubcr is tho general program chairman. Ho will bo assisted by the following new five-point chnirrnen: Victor Glass, Catholic activity; George (Hud) Dunn, council aetlylty; Laurence W. Wonder Drug Still on Market WASHINGTON Wt--The wonder drug Chloromycetin remains on the markets but with clear warnings attached to its use by physicians. Under the government ruling an nounced Wednesday, every package o f . i t must henceforth !carr; an explicit caution to doctors against indiscriminate use or for minor infections--and a warning of possible hazards under certain conditions. The Food and Drug Administration FDA had been faced with deciding about future use of the drug as a result of serious blood disorders, some of them fatal recently noted among people treated with the medicine. There was even talk of a possible ban on the drug which, since 1949, has been used in more than; eight million cases. It has been credited with saving thousands of lives from serious Infections such as typhoid fever, Rocky Mountain spotted fever' undulaht: fever, epidemic typhus, "scrub" typhus, certain pneumonias and urinary tract infections. It is medicine's only known cure for typhoid.
