Two-dollar mutuels paid: Bl'LLREIGHZAC, S8.80, 13.30, 7.60; MORO, 6.30, 3.90; CURRENT NEWS, 3.50. BDLLREIGHZAC could not keep up with early leaders, rallied after a quarter and was up in last strides. MORO had good speed from beginning, was under strong handling and just failed to last. CURRENT NEWS was hustled into contending position, held on well to last sixteenth and weakened. KING BULL was never far back, began drifting out leaving chute and held on fairly well.

SPOTTED BULL broke slowly, bore out and finished full of run. BUBBLING HOPE gave way after showing speed for a quarter. DARK BUCHAN was hustled into contending position and tired in last eighth. KARSNER bore in. Scratched: 1057 Transit Bus, 1105 Bill's Bullet.

Newman, Civic Leader Edward E. Newman, 53, building contractor and former president of the Beverly Hills Cham ber of Commerce, died Monday of a heart attack in San Bernardino Hospital. A native of Omaha, Mr. Newman came to Southern California 35 years ago. In 1925 he played a major part with his brother Carl in development of Wilshire Blvd.

property in Bever ly Hills. He served as head of the Beverly Hills Chamber from 1928 to 1929 and for the following six years was manager of the former Wilshire Blvd. Association. At the time of his death he and his brother were developing a residential tract in Fontana. Newman leaves his widow.

Mary-E. Newman, and two other brothers, Oscar and Leonard. Funeral services will be con ducted at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in the chapel of Edward Bros. Colonial Mortuary with interment in Inglewood Park Mau-solem.

OBITUARY William M. Hazlett Requiem Mass for Willian Malcolm Hazlett, 73, known in motion pictures as Chief Many Treaties, will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4954 Santa Monica Blvd. Interment, under direction of Pierce will follow in- Holy Cross Cemetery. A resident of Los Angeles since 1920, he died Sunday at his 310 Alvarado St.

He acted in and served as technical adviser on many western films. He leaves his widow Mae, two daughters, Mrs. Rhea Carde-neli and Mrs. Wilda Lease, and two sons, Boone and Malcolm Hazlett. Roy R.

Hopkins Final rites for Ray Rodney Hopkins, 63, investigator for the State Board of Equalization for the last 14 years, will be ton-ducted today at 2:30 p.m. in Pierce Bros. Los Angeles Chapel, 720 Washington Blvd. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. A resident of L03 Angeles for 61 years, Mr.

Miss Dorothy Doran Funeral services for Miss Dorothy Doran, 40, of 1221 Vermont motion picture actress who died Friday, will be conducted at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Little Church of the Flowers, Forest Lawn Mortuary in charge. Miss' Doran was known on the screen as Ann Bishop. She leaves her father, Robert- Doran, a brother, Robert and three aunts.

John H. Binford Funeral services for John H. (Jack) Binford, 39, Los Angeles newspaperman who died Monday, will be conducted in the Little Church of the Flowers, Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, at p.m. Friday. Mr.

Binford leaves his widow, Mrs. Geral-dine Lee Binford, and two sons, John H. Jr. and Frank. Dancer Files New Suit for Divorce Armida V.

Glenn, Spanish dancer known professionally as Armida, yesterday filed a Reno suit for divorce against Bud Glenn, film studio musician. charged cruelty. A previous suit, filed Dec. 24, 1946, was dismissed when the couple were reconciled in less than two weeks. They were married Dec.
