This deftness is missing. Is Skating Enough? Perhaps we are begging the issue.

Certainly the skating of Miss Henie is superb and may be enough to satisfy the average filmgoer. That will have to be decided by each individual onlooker. At any rate, when Karen (Miss Henie) and Jennie (Olga San Juan) quit their barmaid jobs to take extra roles in a motion picture as Countess of Monte Cristo and maid, respectively, they flop miserably as actors. Irked, Karen and Jennie drive away from the location in a high-powered studio car and decide to have a lark at the famed Troll-heimen Their masquerade as Countess and maid works beautifully until a smooth hotel crook decides get into the act and use the girls to further his own ends. Another young fellow, a lieutenant in the Swiss Guards, becomes involved in the affair when he falls in love with Karen and presents her with a valuable brooch which appears to be stolen property.

SUGGESTION Since Oscar time is just around the corner, it's time to start asking where we will have the shindig. We hate the Shrine Auditorium; but since the Academy has almost 2000 members, each of whom brings a guest or two, it has to be held in a large place. No hotel in town' is large enough to accommodate the crowd. However, we could turn a sound stage-either at 20th Century, Metro or Warners into a ball room, start the festivities at 7 p.m.-By 9 all the Oscars would be awarded and a buffet supper could be served. After that, 'the guests could dance, and a good time could be had by all.

This is just a suggestion, but I believe it would be better than having the awards in the Shrine, a barn-like, badly-lighted, cold auditorium, which makes our glamour gals look asr if they're about to have an operation.
