JOHNSON, W.M.. H. TERRY, Secretary. William P. Graef, Long Beach Leader, William Percy Graef, 79, Long Beach civic leader and for many years an executive of the Southern California Edison died Monday in Good Samaritan Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Graef, a native of Baltimore, came to California 46 years ago and joined the power company. He became Edison district manager, but was more widely known for his participation and leadership in Long Beach community af- fairs. Founder of Clinic sales drive in Long Beach. Recalled as Adviser In 1943 he retired from the In 1926 he became one of the two founders of the Adelaide Tichenor Clinic for Crippled Children and served Jon its board of directors.

He also was a member of the Long Beach Community Hospital board of directors. In 1937 he was presented the Meritorious Service Award of the Long Beach Council of Service Clubs for his many civic efforts. Durling World War II he was of the USO campaign and headed the Treasury Department's war bond power company, but soon; was called back and served in an advisory capacity until his last illness.
