By and large, the show could stand more rehearsing, both cast and technical. However, in the cabaret atmosphere of the theater, the goofs were 'taken in a spirit of good fun on' open ing nignt.

Mary Webster and Ed Stroll are attractive and competent as the romantic lead3. In the supporting cast, which includes Bebe Smith Beverly Scott, Linne Ahl- strand and Ted Berger, Shel don Allman is a standout in the relatively small part of Frotessor Thornton. The sets are good and Fuchs, also the director, uses them efficiently. GEOFFREY WARREN mmm -mi Mil: "iA htimi by AARON A. Winsome 9 g-etress Patricia orison stars, with dancer Vera Lee featured, in this show which is the first of its type ever presented in the plush dine-and-dance spot. First nighters were treated to a production rated a 1 a by Grove standards with 12' Les Ambassador dancers and the Maple Leaf Garden Quartet providing Terpsichorean and vocal support for principals. Miss Morison, in good voice and demonstrating additional talent as a dancer, scores in parts two and three titled "In Old Vienna" and "In Gay Paree." In a sketch, "Songs From the Waltz Capital," she charms listeners "with gay operetta numbers; then in "Songs From Maxim's" mixes old-time ballads with hit tunes from the film "Gigi" in a pleasant, tuneful blend. The songstress is beautifully gowned. Miss Lee portrays "The in an amusing ketch and demonstrates some whirlwind dancing while leading a line of girls in "Les Can-Can." The production had a few rough spots opening night which undoubtedly will be smoothed out in short order.

It's a different type of presentation for the Grove, which has a relatively small stage compared to a regular theater, as produced by Steph- en Papich is an entertaining, if offering. MUSICAL CLOWNS Once the Vagabonds, zany, instrumental-vocal quartet, warm up at the Moulin Rouge, they keep the pace jumping with a continuous round of 1 screwball routines featuring bass player-comic Eddy Peddie. The other three rambunctious musical clowns are Attilio Risso. Dom Germano, and 1 Torriere. Featured with the group is Babe Pier, who accounts for some extraordinary impersonations of film and song stars.

On opening night the Vagabonds eliminated their hilarious "Salt" but kept things humming with "What Makes the World Go Round?" "Lazy River," "Bill Bailey" and a lively take-off on Louis Prima. MONKEY BUSINESS The Marquis Family, a hilarious monkey act that scored a hit on the Jack Benny TV show recently, during which the simians upstaged both Benny and Bob Hope beautifully, will be the next attraction at the Terrace Room of the Statler Hilton Hotel, opening April 30 for three weeks. Mood music for the festive occasion will be furnished by Leighton Noble's 0 a. Dr. Giovanni opens the proceedings with his great pick-pocket act.

Though that quote occurs halfway through the show, it very neatly sums up the nature of this character. However, the object of Fuchs' predatory nature is brunet, but this matters not a bit as he really likes them all. This is a fun show and it would be a great deal more fun if the supporting cast more closely approached Fuchs excellence.

He can't do it alone. This show Is somewhat of a departure for Fuchs from his usual comedy style. He is not only acceptable in an acting role, he is also very amusing. Briefly, the story Is con cerned with an attractive young divorcee wno comes to New York to go to school, hoping to gain enough culture to stand up to her ex- 'Blessings9 Will Arrive Deborah Kerr, Rossano Brazzi, and Maurice Cheva lier star in the new comedy romance "Count Your Bless-! ings," opening Wednesday at the Hollywood Paramount Theater for an exclusive en gagement.
