His election by the board of directors of the Federation followed the 11th annual meeting of the group in Wil-shire Christian Church Thursday night. Dr. Martin has served as president of the Federation in 1938 and during last year, Others Named Dr.

Fagerburg, in accepting his election, said he has high hopes of seeing the Federation program move forward on an expanding front. Harris, pastor, announced that two rival newspapers were formed in the Sunday-school and each student given the chance to enlist as a reporter on the Holly-dale Star or the Sunday Morning Gazette. The children each received cards to write information on concerning new scholars they bring to Sunday-school. The papers are published each Sunday. Each week cards are counted and the pupil turning in the most will be named top reporter for his respective paper.

The two pupils bringing in the most cards during a six-week period will be named star reporters. They will be feted at a dinner in Los Angeles and later be taken on a tour of The Times. An all-Lutheran pastors conference was called for after Easter, 1950, to hear the initial report. A full report on the proposed union will be made at the 1951 convention of the five synods. In addition to Augustana, other groups participating were the Pacific district of United Evangelical Lutheran Church, the California district of American Lutheran Church, the Synod of California, United Lutheran Church and Pacific District, Evangelical Lutheran Church.
