This is the first Puccini opera to be aired by the Metropolitan in two seasons Miss Moore just signed a thirteen weeks' contract to appear on the Andre Kostelanetz cigarette program, replacing Lawrence Tibbett on March 31. MORE FIXE MUSIC Rudolph Ganz replaces Ernest Schilling (ill in Switzerland) as conductor of the Philharmonic Young People's Concerts. Today, woodwinds will be featured (KNX 8 a.m.) Abram Chasins plays and discusses Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, a work he calls Bach's greatest (KFI 9 a.m.) The three recorded concert periods (KECA and KFAC) are well worth tuning, as usual. See High Lights. TOSCAMM In his fourth broadcast as conductor of the N.B.C.

Symphony, the famed Italian maestro performs Brahms's "Tragic Jean Sibelius's Second in Major, and two novelty works: the Rondo Arlecchinesco, bv Busoni; Variations on the "Carnival of Venice," by Tom- masini. Again note carefully the tonal quality of this broadcast. While it has been improved slightly, there is still something to be desired in tonal shadings. This may be a bit presump-tious, but too often these con-j certs fail to sound the way one expects a Toscanini-conducted orchestra to perform. SPECIAL SHOW An all-star array of talent airs today (KFI 6 p.m.) in the interests of the Warm Springs Foundation, for forty-five minutes.

Infantile paralysis is shot at by Jack Benny and Phil Baker, Rudy Vallee, Bergen and McCarthy, Al Jolson, Parkyakar-kus, Joe Penner, Lanny Ross, Walter O'Keefe, Meredith Will-pon's forty-piece orchestra and other performers.
