Cornero Called in Stock Sales Tony Cornero, former Los Angeles gambler, yesterday was ordered to appear before U.S. Judge Ben Harrison next July 18 and show cause why he should not produce records of stock sales in his new Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas. In the petition filed by G. M.

Cuthbertson, enforcement officer for the Securities and Exchange Commission here, it was alleged that Cornero had sold large shares of the stock in the new $6,000,000 hotel, which is yet completed, but had failed to file statements of the sales with SEC as required by law. The petition alleged that the only statement regarding stock sales made by Cornero was filed in July, 1954, but was withdrawn three months later. Commission Commends Callicott A resolution commending Ransom M. Callicott for his work as a member of the City Civil Service Commission was adopted yesterday by the com" mission. Callicott was elected a member of the City Council at the April municipal election and will take that office next Friday.
