After circling over half the globe and keeping always just behind the one for whom It was intended until, after being forwarded from one hospital to another, it came back to Pomona and here found the soldier for whom it was Intended, a Christmas package formed the center of one of the most novel Christmas celebrations ever held In this city. During the Christmas season last year, Mr.

The package left here the latter part of November. During the battle of the Argonne young Taylor suffered severely from Bhell shock, bullets from bursting shrapnel shells passing through his clothing. He was sent first to one hospital and then to another. In the meantime his Chittmas package came and started to follow him It would reach the hospital Just after the patient had been sent somewhere else. Barring unforeseen delays, within the next ten days or two weeks at the longest, this city will enjoy the advantages of a single telephone system. Thousands of dollars a month will be raved by the elimination of the dual phone concerns. This admonition comes from the Government A group of Uncle Sam's experts who know these gasoline engines as a housewife knows her kitchen stove, have written the information on which the command is based. So many people are using gas engines now, for everything from churning the butter to touring the continent, that some sound counsel is due them. A study was made of the troubles of the average citizen who is today making harnessed explosions work for him.

A booklet was issued to meet his troubles. "Practical Hints on Running a Gas Engine" is its title. It says that engine trouble always leaves its clew through which the cause may be located. It urges the engine owner to become a trouble sleuth, to learn to find the source of disturbance before he begins tinkering.
