IMPROVE WATER PLANT I LOCAL CORRESPONDF-Nd) HUNTINGTON PARK, June 4 Huntington Park's water plant now have reservoirs which hav; 2,078,000 gallons capacity, the cit having Just completed a reservot' with a capacity of 1,000,000 gal Ions. Located at the main plan; there la another 1,000.000. gallo reservoir, and on the park proj-i erty there Is a niail plant with reservoir of 76.000 gallons capacity Water will be turned Into the nev reservoir just as soon as the con nectlons are mnde at the locus pumping station. ssd Pnelnnd intarMtnd In the lnventlon, wljieh had been entirely Ignored here until wide publicity attended an offer which the Inventor received for his secret from a firm of French engineers. Then the British Air Ministry manifested a belated Interest, and aa a result of what they saw In the secrecy of Grindell-Matthews's laboratory today they are anxious for fuller knowledge.

It is said the inventor, although not a rich man, has made no extravagant financial demands for his secret, which he prefers to give to his own government rather than have It fail Into the handa of foreigners. If the results of further tests bear out what It Is understood today's preliminary teata showed, a Socialist government traditionally committed to pacificism will be called on to decide whether Jt will acquire the formula of the greatest death-dealing device yet evoked In the srt of war. But the Inventor says that It likewise Is capable of use to enforce peace. At any rate, slthouch its exact nature has not been described aa yet. It Is understood that by wireless tranBmlsslon of tremendous electrical energy, the Inventor has been able, at a distance 4f sixty-four feet, to kill a mouse carriages, aisaDie maKnetos ot air planes and motor cara and set lire to all sorts of things.

Moreover. It is asserted that this destructive energy can be transmitted over many miles as easily as it can be given a short range demonstration in the laboratory. Something of the scale on which the Inventor thinks It can be projected Is evidenced by the estimate that the construction and equipment of a plant necessary to maintain a fifty-mile barrage around London would Involve an Initial cost of $15,000,000. If the Invention would accom-pliBh what is claimed for It, no hostile airplane could enter the protected area. These are the considerations that make John Bull want to know more about the Invention before It passes under French control.
