"It wasn't my brilliant idea', I'll assure you," the newly elected officer said with a laugh. She suspects the other members chose her because she's, in her words, "full of meanness," and can get everyone quiet for meetings. Mrs.

Quinn has been a member of this group for a year, but has belonged to Newcomer clubs in other states. "It's great to be able to join Newcomers. That way you meet people," she said. She'd like to lead the group in participating in Newark Days, sponsoring a youth concert, and generally helping the community grow. A member of both the Fremont-Newark Philharmonic and Society, she is interested in classical music.
