In cases fragments of pottery are missing destroyed or unfound an artificial piece is made and fitted in, the design being carried through. Comparatively little is known of the Hohakam Indians, most of the existing knowledge having been supplied by Van Bergen expeditions in the past few years. It is believed the tribe settled in Central Arizona in a re-migration from somewhere in Mexico, probably Yucatan, as much of the pottery found in the Holia-kam ruins bears a similarity to that of Yucatan. Their occupation of Arizona areas is set at approximately the beginning of the Christian era.

Miss Widmann's reconstruction of the tribe's pottery, thereby piecing together tribal history and custom through designs, is adding dally to the knowledge concerning a people who probably ceased to exist as a tribe when the world was twenty Jones.
