HARRY A. WILLIAMS. The idea of becoming a full-blown baseball magnate appeals so strongly to Tom Darmody that he has nerved himself up to the point of buying the Los Angeles club. Tie deal should be completed within a few days. Following the announcement of the Berry brothers and Tom 8tephens that they would purchase the San Francisco franchise, Darmody yesterday declared it his intention to buy the Los Angeles club.

That the deal has not actually been closed is due solely to the fact that Darmody did pot have the ready cash with which to tackle it single-handed. But he admits that he will be the main owmer of the Angels within a very short time. "Two men will be associated with me in the purchase of the club," declared Darmody.
